Hey all, I'm going to be living in DC (Crystal City) for the next few months. I wanted to know if anybody here knew of some under-the-radar places (restaurants, sites, whatever) to check out and also any other cool things people think I should see (besides the obvious). Thanks!

Georgetown is awesome, great restaurants and bars. I love the DC area, my mom grew up there - actually in Georgetown - and her side of the family still lives there, spent many great summers as a kid at my grandparents in Potomac and it's a second home to me. You will love it there.

Lefty's BBQ in Waldorf is amazing. Family place off of Route 5. Everything homemade. From the Mac and Cheese to the desserts. Love their hot BBQ sauce.

Is this place really worth a visit? It's only about 5 minutes from my house but I've never mustered up the courage to make the trip in.

if you want a titty bar, Crystal City Restaurant should be real close to you. There's also some good places to eat along 29th street I believe. Crystal City Sports Pub is a great place to watch sports, then there's a mexican place to eat that I've been to a million times (along with other restaurants as well).
Also around is a nice kabob place, Legal Seafood, and Chipotle. All of this is just in Crystal City too
