Many confuse the 4-3 with nickel and dime packages, just looking at the four man rush line up, which was most of the game. I still have to re-watch as well but do not recall many true 3-4 sets.
Some of our guys on the OL praised Dotson on the rush. I would like to see him signed and finally see the field.
wake had a nice game ... and so did clemons .... two key cogs to our fortunes ... when we get thru the PATSIES game in 3 weeks .... we'll know what we have then on defense ... BEEFALOO was a nice primer -- but contrary to some others ... i think AP will still pose some challenges for us ... BUFs OL was just not very good .... MINs OL is better, and should have better success opening lanes for AP. what i do see us doing well is containing him on the outside ... which gives much hope to holding him to <100 yards ... also, AP very much misses his FB from last year ..... also as stated Favre will get rid of the ball quickly ... he just is not going to stand around and get rocked at this point (gimpy ankle et al), but if we can just get him to 'feel' the pressure ... that will likely be enough. Harvin to me is the only real threat we need to limit. stop AP and make Favre beat us ...
Too bad we don't have Nicks or Evans. I doubt very seriously that Incognito will be as effective as Nicks inside. I'd rather see Micah head to head vs AP than Carpenter. How much WC will we see this week? Will that neutralize Minne's Dline at all?
Well, with the 4-3 it is more about hooking the OLB as I expect Big Jake can handle Jared Allen one on one, Vern Carey on Edwards is another story. That is a part of the reason why I like this week's matchup, Jake on Allen is a no brainer, that will leave Lou on the LB and I like that matchup as well. BTW, I cannot stand miami area radio right now, we win the game and the hosts are still pounding on the phins for "the game being close" of all of the stupidity that ranks right up there.
The WC looked like one sick kitty vs Buff. Ronnie looked lost and indecisive. I look for that to be corrected, and making a few plays in Minny.
The White Whale played a lot. He made the tackle on the opening kick off and started the game. He stuck his face in there and played alright. He did not hurt us.
Some older fans, from 72, have told me that if we would have passed more, it would have been a much more dominant PERFECTION. AAAAAAAAARGH, LMAO!!!
and the circle continues..This teams players will never get a true homefield advantage, its why I love them on the road this year.
