This is an extremely important game. The outcome of this game effects every team in the AFC East. I think the Jets are going to win, but I'm pulling for the Pats. It's hard to pick which of them I want to move to 7-3. But I would rather that New England win because Miami will not hold a head to head advantage over New York at seasons end. More losses for the Jets = better chance for Miami. Of course, this is all contingent on Miami winning their next two games. Any way you look at it though, this is the biggest game of the NFL season to date.
If the pats win and then we can beat oakland & the pats we will be in first place. What I really want is for the bills, jets & pats to have a colossal collapse and tank the rest of the season.
i hate the pats more than the jets. i might be rooting jets. then again i hate favre. ok i'm rooting pats.
Found this little piece online this morning: This is gonna be real fun tonight.. I hope both teams beat the living hell out of each other. http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/nfl#
I was going to post that but you beat me to it. Anyway I will once again go contradictory to popular sentiment on here and root for the Jets to win. I simply can't stand every football program I watch even now on the NFL Network starting the whole "Pats are back and will win the Super Bowl" crap. I just simply can't take it and I desperately want them to lose because if they don't I guarantee every power ranking next week will start #1 New England. I hate the Pats with a passion and hope the Jets lay 47 on them as well. The Fins will get their chance at the Jets again in Week 17 and that will be the same as playing the Pats next week in terms of winning the division. For today I am a Jets fan.
I can't root for the Jets being a Fin fan in Jersey surrounded by Jet fans. And I can't stand the Pats either. So I will root for them all to get beat up and the game ends in a tie!
I hope Favre has a playoff type performance. And by that, I mean he should throw an interception to lose the game in the 4th quarter.
That will definitely be an advantage for the Pats as they are more of a run team anyway (with Cassell still being a liability). If the Jets give Jones the ball though that could keep it interesting. I can't wait to watch this game tonight.
gooood... goooood... bad field = more injures hopefully not serious injuries though, just ones that would keep people out say... 7 weeks
Gish, this obsession of yours with the Patriots really has me concerned. I'm rooting for an earthquake. In Jersey.
Um, it's called Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands. Good, that would preclude me since I'm 20 minutes from there.
if you don't have the NFL channel, WPIX is carrying the Jets/Patriots game. its a superstation and 234 on "dish network" 7:00 central time.
I know - I agree. It's a better name, though, than Jets Stadium. If it ever gets renamed that I'm hitting the road to anywhere but Jersey. It's enough comfort to know that the Jets have to pay the Giants all kinds of fees and royalties to use it and the concession stands, etc.
I think its more to the Jets advantage, they have been running the ball very well and stopping the run very well. The Pats are running a 4th string RB and their defense is old and injured.
those bastards over at dish gave us the NFL channel for about a year, soon as football started last year they took it away, thanh goodness WPIX is carrying it.
The Jets are like the Cards of the AFC. Dangerous at home, capable of huge offensive explosions, but struggle against good or defensive and tough teams, much better at home than on the road, and just generally hard to take seriously. I really dont know who I want to win this game. Frankly, Im not sure I care. We need to close out our season strong. If we can do that, I dont think it matters who wins tonight. We definately need to beat the Jets in our rematch, and at home against the Pats we should be gunning for that game as well. If we can win both of those and put the crappy teams we are facing on the ground, we are in good shape no matter who wins here. A question if anyone knows. If you face a team and split your head to heads, and your div. record is the same (and overall record obviously) what is the next tiebreaker?
screw earthquakes, i hope brett favre trips over his own feet and does a back flip in the air, lands on his face, and retires at halftime from the emergency room.
i absolutely hate the nfl network. they advertise this live game coverage all week online, and now they skip an entire jets drive. and i'm sick of this guy saying "we'll get you right back out in just a minute".. grr
they just need to stop the jets. and of course i'm playing against leon washington this week in fantasy just to rub it in.. ugh.
The Jets look great. The Patriots pass defense is a real soft point. You can really take advantage of that.
