New England is no longer a good team. That defense was definately covered up by the offense last year, no question. Brady was the linchpin for that offense, and without him they are nothing. The defense cant hold a lead or keep a game close against good opponents. The offense cant score enough to lead the D or come back from a significant deficit imo. Brady meant more to them than anyone realized. This game is just about over. If we dont come out of our home game against the Pats with a W then we dont deserve to sniff the playoffs.
is anyone surprised at how well they're playing considering the mass FA pick ups they had? that one handed catch was ****ing amazing
I hate to admit it, but many of the FA pickups they got were, if not worth it for the price they paid, good pickups. Jenkins has been a terror in the middle, Pace has been solid and Faneca is a rock. Amusingly enough, the one FA they needed least is the one that gets far and away the most attention.
Shaun Ellis out, Dan Koppen out looked like Koppen may have a broken arm/elbow. he had it outstretched and faulk ran right into the back of it and bent it the wrong way
if the jets win this game they'll go 10-6 easily, meaning we're going to have to play some great, great football down the stretch here to win the division.
we might still have a game here fellas. hopefully pats pull one out their arse that coupled with the injuries would be fantastic
im rooting, kinda, for the jets. i want us to gain on NE and then overtake the Pats and the JEts in the finale.
i know it seems nice, but the jets are simply the better team here, or at least thats what it really looks like. with them already having one win over us, and apart from TENN next week having a fairly easy schedule, it would really be much better for them to lose here. after all, say they win here, and we beat oakland. we're now tied with NE at 6-4 but really in 2nd bc of our tiebreaker with the jets at 7-3. Jets lose to tennesee next week and we pull off a win against the pats, and suddenly we're tied for the division lead but really in 2nd. now, if NE wins today, they go to 7-3 with jets at 6-4 tied with us and we're still technically 3rd. We manage to beat NE and the jets lose to Tenn, we're at the top of the division at 7-4, ahead of NE at 7-4 bc of the tiebreaker with the jets hurting at 6-5. i like scenario 2 much better, as we can then control our own fate
By the way, if the Jets reach their peak at Week 11 anyone think they can maintain for another 9 games to reach the SB? Teams that normally pull out ahead at this stage of the season have a few bumps later on in the year. A team that is winning, but not playing it's best football is another matter all together. I may be accused as being homerish here, but I'll bet the Jets struggle in two weeks. they have been playing pretty well since they lost to Oakland, and they are due to start to go backwards. You can either go forwards or backwards, but you will never stay the same.
TD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cassel could have taken a nap back there. And they get the 2!!
I can't justify rooting for either. Right now I'd like to see Favre throw a TD pass but later it might be for him to be picked off.
The Jets are not adapting at all and its killing them. Defense is not staying disciplined either, allowing Cassel to run everywhere. Still, its nice to know Cassell cant throw the deep ball at all. Moss had like 5 steps on the defender and the pass wasnt even close. It looked like it was out of bounds lol.
Man Mayo is a player though. Was very dissapointed to have the Pats grab him in the draft, I thought he was gonna be a good one and he hasnt dissapointed so far. Made plays all over the field for NE tonight. Good instincts, can avoid blocks, deliver a hit and drive the carrier back.
Haha stupid Jets! Great grab by Moss though, no doubt. Im torn. I hate seeing the Pats win, but I really dont like seeing the Jets win either
Yet a few years ago, that same play is NOT a catch by Chris Chambers. I swear sometimes I think this game is rigged
