Miami Dolphins starting defensive tackle Jordan Phillips was in a walking boot at practice on Thursday, due to an ankle injury.

Coach Adam Gase had noted that Phillips had less snaps than rookie Davon Godchaux, despite starting, because he sustained the injury against the Chargers.

Phillips did take off his boot to do some conditioning work on a machine during the open portion of practice. If Phillips were unable to play it could create an opportunity for some additional snaps for rookie defensive tackle Vincent Taylor.

Other Dolphins who did not participate at the beginning of practice were linebacker Rey Maualuga (hamstring), running back Jay Ajayi (knee) and wide receiver DeVante Parker (ankle). The Dolphins believe Parker should be fine to play against the Jets. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry (knee) did participate in some individual drills.
