http://linemakers.sportingnews.com/...nes-vegas-odds-bengals-dolphins-packers-bears I'm very surprised the Dolphins are getting this much respect. If I wasn't morally opposed to betting against my own team, I might lay the money down.
It actually started out as a pick'em game. It then moved up slowly to where it's at now which is -2.5. Road teams usually don't fare well on the short week.
Road teams on Thursday night. Bengals played a later game on Sunday, too. I will say this though, Thursday night short week road teams are 4-3 this year. Interesting phenomenon. It's not enough for Vegas to change their formulas though.
Here are the short week road games thus far in 2013: Week 2: NYJ (+10.5) at NWE - Jets 10, Patriots 13 Week 3: KAN (+3.0) at PHI - Chiefs 26, Eagles 16 Week 4: SFO (-3.0) at STL - 49ers 35, Rams 11 Week 5: BUF (+3.5) at CLE - Bills 24, Browns 37 Week 6: NYG (+9.5) at CHI - Giants 21, Bears 27 Week 7: SEA (-5.0) at ARI - Seahawks 34, Cardinals 22 Week 8: CAR (-7.0) at TAM - Panthers 31, Buccaneers 13 Week 9: CIN (-2.5) at MIA - ??? Strange phenomenon that the visiting team has covered 5 times in 7 weeks.
When the Dolphins beat the Panthers a few years ago on a thursday night....the Road teams were something horrific like 2-18 straight up and something ridiculous ATS as well.
I would think that Thursday away team stat would matter if they were away the game before they played the Thursday.. Andy dalton playing well, kid turned out pretty good against a lot of criticism..so much talent on that team, I will hope to see our two rookie corners playing, ride or die.. Lol, no way the dolphins come out flat in this one, don't matter if it's just the vendors are in attendance...Philbin better have them foaming.
Bengals have traditionally been as bad or inconsistent as we have been. We beat them last season with less talent. If we can play all 4 qtrs instead of a half, and not lose another guy to injury, we can beat them. Still, just don't get beat 49-9... lmao...
Yes. I wasn't worried about beating the stej at all this season until we dropped that Bills game and now the Pats. The stej have a very good defense, but their offense is atrocious, but they have some talent at WR and RB. That said, I think we'll still play them much better and if we can continue to protect Tannehill, keep him mobile, and NOT turn the damn ball over, we can win this. Be nice if our defense can continue to generate turnovers.
If that's the case, based on attendance at games and local TV ratings over the past few years, the Dolphins should be undefeated this year and the defending SB from last year.
I don't think we are as bad as we've looked at times and I don't think the Bengals are as good as they have looked at times. It should be a close game. I actually like our chances in this game. I think the Bengals are a 9-10 win team at best they aren't going to be 12-4 or 13-3.
Bengals have struggled against a lot of teams this year. They finally put it all together against the jets. That's what the bengals look like at their best. Now lets hope on a short week, on the road, their at their worst
Not strange at all. Anyone who says "home teams usually cover Thursday games" is essentially relying on a flawed strategy, and Vegas is taking their money. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
They've beaten Detroit New England, and Green Bay. Not too shabby. But yea, I do think Dalton could toss up a horrible game even with all those nice skill players. Their secondary is beat up right now as well. This is the game we need Mike Wallace to take over and win for us. He owes us a few W's.
Yes, THIS right here. Getting robbed on like four different occasions last week didn't help our cause against the Pats.
Dolphins are going to do what they always do. They will win this one and suck fans back in thinking that just maybe this team has finally turned the corner but in the end we will end up being a 7-9 or 8-8 team.
I think all the money slides to the bengals and the dolphins win the game or at least cover the spread..Its a sucker bet.
i will believe it when i see it, a fast starting pumped up dolphins team at home...when was the last time that happened, some years ago, when the saints were visiting ?
This certainly could happen, but at the same time fans really shouldn't be going through these motions on a weekly basis. Every game doesn't require a grand evaluation.
