he just had that very lucky chip for par on 17..and just drained an eagle put for outright lead!!! tiger is amazing. dont forget its his first tournament since his surgery
he's only got a 1 shot lead. I woudlnt call that killing em. Hopefully his knee doesnt hamper his performance though tomorrow, Like to see him win it.
Relative to a US open? It certainly is. This guy is just not human. He is not from this world. Absolutely amazing.
Career major record leading after 54 holes: 13-0 Career record leading after 54 holes: 54-3 Gaining the lead could be considered killing them
This is true. Given this is a US open though, a one shot lead isnt really safe. Anything can happen. Especially when he's double bogeyed the first hole... twice now? Im not knocking the guy or disagreeing. he's clearly in my opinion the best golfer to ever play the game. But a one shot lead in a major is just as shaky, as it is solid. Im with you guys though, he's playing well. those shots today were great. He really is amazing. i wish i had a 1/10th of his talent on the links. haha
Down 5 shots w/ six holes to go, making two eagles and chipping in for birdie on 17 to take the lead is "killin 'em", in my mind. The guy never ceases to amaze me. His one shot lead might as well be 10. No way he loses, imo, unless the pain in his knee is just unbearable.
Very very few things are more compelling to watch than Tiger in the hunt at a major. It's like the four days of Christmas for me. Doesn't matter if you like him or not, he just makes everything better.
No way Rocco wins. He's a great guy and it would be a good story, but heads up vs. Tiger for 18 holes? Tiger wins by 5, I'll predict.
I'm rooting for the "OLD" Rocco... gonna have to DVR it and stay away from all sources of sports reporting due to work... but, Tiger should win of course, when he gets paired with someone in that final round that other player just always seems to fall apart. Credit to Lee Westwood yesterday for hanging in there, just couldn't make the big putts when he needed them.
Well, he was the 158th ranked player in the world, and has only one 5 tournaments in his 20+ year career. Unfortunately, when it's the US Open and the bar is set by Tiger, it's impossible to look good all the time. All the props in the world to Rocco. He certainly didn't lose the tournament.
