    Apparently he's leaning towards declaring.

Problem is, he doesn't have a position.

Speaking of guys without positions, I'd be very keen, especially if we continue with the Wildcat, to draft Pat White.

So Pat White takes Ronnie's spot? Ronnie takes Ricky's or Cobbs??

Interesting. I watch White every week...making folks miss is something I love....durability at the next level following the first few tackles is a concern.

Couldnt you do and accomplish the same thing with Tebow?? Atleast he has more meat on his bones.

I was thinking the same thing watching the WVU game against Auburn. White may not be the most skilled passer, but he handles the ball well, is pretty fast and is a deceptive runner.

Wonder if he could be a late round pick up since he has no true position in most teams eyes.

Nah, draft him as a fullback and let him knock heads as a runner and blocker if a team can teach him how to block.

It doesn't take much for a QB to turn into a TE, they already know how the position is played and have a better concept of the offense. Its not that far fetched.

doesnt mean hes a nfl skilled blocker/reciever......if the dude has mediocre hands and ok blocking skills.....doesnt mean crap if he was a good qb in college....

john madden knows a hell've alot about football doesnt mean he can play outside linebacker for us....

I think Tebow is going to still be a QB as a Pro, as I'm not convinced yet that a QB of his style is destined to be ineffective as a Pro.

I think between the success that the Falcons had early in Vick's career, before some of the WCO foolishness, and the success of the Wildcat, there's a place for that kind of player in the NFL.

I don't think Tebow is gonna be it, though. It's a tall order to find a coach confident and skilled enough to put together than kinda system, and spend the kinda resources Tebow would take to get.

IMO Tebow is going to be a QB in the pros .He has a great arm, a quality everyone seems to overlook .And he is accurate .

He wont be a Payton Manning type of QB . In fact you will not be able to compare him to anyone past or present .

His skill set is more appropiate to a run first type of offense .When defenses creep up to defend the run he will hit on those long strikes .

He is not the cerebral type but he will be succesful IMO.

Having said that I am not convinced he is coming out .

Regarding Pat White, do you think he'll declare for the draft or go the baseball route? He was drafted by the Reds, and we here in Cincinnati are certainly curious as to why...any thoughts?

That didn't stop Matt Jones. Now, granted, it's taken Matt a bit longer to develop, and he developed a fancy for cocaine, but he's not having a terrible year. He wasn't worth a 1st, but that's a different argument

What are the chances Tebow declares and runs a ridiculous 40 time for a guy his size and Al Davis falls in love with him and drafts him in the 1st round?

yeah, but Matt showed skills at the NFL Combine in his speed and hands drills (he didnt plan on playing QB in NFL)....so if Tebow or White go that route and shows the same thing then I suspect an organization or two would quickly lean toward them.

Pat doesn't take anyone's spot. He's just another x-factor player who will play WR, but will offer you all sorts of options at TB and at QB if need be, as well as on ST's.

Tebow will be drafted as a QB and thus you are encountring all sorts of issues there from the get go. The reality is that Tebow won't be running round like Ronnie in the NFL.

He's a senior so he's draft eligible already. He's already turned down baseball once already. Indications are that he wants to give the NFL first shot. Given the way that the league looks offensively, that's a great call.

Tebow? Personally I wouldn't touch him till the 4th or later.

White? I've seen more than one trusted name talk about him as going in the 3rd. I could see that.

Ahhh, regarding White, since you mentioned him in WildCat, and part of the value or feature is running it with our base personnel when we break the huddle, etc, I wasnt sure where you had him lining up.

    thanks

Tebo's pro potential is confusing at best in my opinion. Vince Young is the new template for that style of running/passing QB, and he's not doing so well these days. I get the feeling that he's going to go higher than expected, at least on this board. Maybe a team will take him with a low 1st to a mid 2nd. All it takes is one team to pull the trigger and take a shot.

When I watch him play, I see a pretty good arm- plus he has so many intangibles in spades. I'm thinking mid 2nd round.

Tebow has a good but not great arm and good but not great legs. He doesn't really do anything that stands out to you. I honestly dont see him as an NFL QB though I'm sure someone gives him a shot.

Forgetting about the style of whole offense, Florida has a lot of wide open receivers...they rely a lot on angles and running away/semi picks from man coverages in the passing game and throw to spots against zones...because of that TEBOW very rarely has to make a throw into space and his timing is not the best and his arm is good not great...and the teams that have made him do those two things (throw on time and into smaller windows) have made him look pretty average. On top of that he has horrible footwork, his "tools" are very average as a throwing QB and he does a lot out of the shotgun....now if you are going to run a gimmick offense (do not know who would?) majority of the time, then Tebow warrants a look. Or if you want a guy that is a big time project that can help on St's and another position......he is definitely in my book a luxury pick.

This IMHO takes nothing away from the fact he is a hell of a good kid, agreat ambassador for college football and a hell of a college player..particularly as a running QB. Also IMHO he SHOULD come out...another year in Meyer's system will not help him prepare any more for the pro game and an extra year of learning and breaking bad habits is probably better for him in the long run.

agreed on all counts, when i saw pat white play last week, it all fell into place, it looks like the wildcat has arrived and is here to stay, and is going to affect draft position of certain players.

Pat white has a wildcat talent that we dont, and thats the threat of the pass. Imagine white, brown and ricky runnin in that set. damn. fun to dream.

Honestly Jim, if Jayson Foster was going to play any part in the offense that we run, he'd be here. The bottom line is he simply isn't good enough.

I did'nt know this.Being a Reds fan I'd rather see him in Reds outfit than a Dolphins one.I'm not sure how good a baseball player he is,just don't see him fitting in anywhere in our Offensive scheme.
The Wildcat is fun and all,but is it going to be a BIG part of our team next year? I felt it was only used to cover up our weaknesses on offense, and to have R&R on the field together more.
White's an elusive, athletic type of College baller. Two good hits in the NFL and he's on IR for the year IMHO.

Good point. My line of reasoning was that the Fins cut him loose before they decided on the wildcat. A linebacker came to mind this morning, Sean Lee from Penn State. Any thoughts on him, and do you know if he's coming out or was redshirted? Cheers.

But Vick could dodge tackles, Tebow is going to be a tackling dummy. He has to change the way he plays completely.

Thats a great point. Vick could actually make defenders miss, where Tebow runs like a fullback. Sure he has good speed for a QB, but it's his power that makes him the runner he is. That isn't going to fly in the Pros.
