Not sure why the hate on Ronnie. 10 carries for 43, vs 7 for 39 for Ricky. Ronnie had a good game...plus he's always been a guy that does much better late in games when he gets 20+ carries.

Nice post. We should have put more new looks to it then we showed. It just looked like we were forcing the plays rather then them having a flow.

The point of this thread was that I want the offense to show some fire, some pep in there step. Take the game to the opposing team. Let them know they just played the Dolphins Offense on the field. Show some pride, and desire! I want to see some excitement in the booth from Dan Henning as well, and not reaching for the Pepto Bismo either. Let's take away the predictability as what we are going to do on offense.

I have no idea how anyone could prefer Cobbs over Ronnie. Ronnie outproduced Ricky last year and I don't see any reason to expect otherwise this year.

Actually, I'd prefer to see a bit more consistency on offense FFic, like running off tackle and maybe stretching the field a bit with a seam route by Haynos.

Right now, I think the WC and backfield motion has become a sort of pacifier for the offense, "that off tackle dive gained us two yards, bring on the trickeration".

We may need a bit more 4 yds and cloud of dust and a bit less of toss back passes.

and Ronnie doesnt? how many times have we seen him KTF out of someone?

I agree Chad looked hesitant at times, Now if thats because no one was open or if he was simply hesitant to attack downfield is unknown because I cant see the whole field on the TV.

Im going the opposite direction here and saying we need MORE predictability. Line'em up, make it so obvious we're giving it to ronnie 20 times this week, and then, GIVE IT TO HIM 20 TIMES! The colts cannot play solid run defense for four qtrs, if even one. If we keep going at them, they will break. And they will break hard. Their DT's are crap. No kind words here, their crap. We go at them all game they will be beached wales on the field.

    Their linebackers? HA!

The colts can score anywhere on the field. But that front 7 has nothing to stop us if we run at them 40 times. And with Ronnie/Ricky, that SHOULD be the case.

I have seen Ronnie last game run forward and fall down after first contact. I want to see Cobbs get some touches and see what he can do. If Ronnie gets it going then he stays in there if he doesn't let give Ricky and Cobbs a try. I am just not crazy about Ronnie.

    :hi5:

That is the spirit, if you look at our offensive unit, it is filled with #1 or #2 picks, we should be able to do some work with that much talent on the thing.

Indy activated a 300 pd DT so they have two big guys manning the middle of the D, but even still, their DE's are maybe 240ish..

With an OL thats holding its own, and legitimately challenging opponents, I believe Ronnie's straight ahead power is advantageous, and particularly for exploiting potential vulnerabilities.

When the OL is struggling as it appears to be now, I'm convinced Ricky's quick, and deceptive speed is better suited, simplifying the job of the Linemen to occupy their assignment, rather than having to outright control, or move out of position.
