Let's come up with "thephins" definition of words for describing greatness and epic sucktitude. So much time is spent in various threads arguing over what is "elite", "pretty good", "horrible", etc.
So forget what you're own personal definitions are various words and lets hammer out a scale that way we can avoid these space wasting arguments in the future.
I propose:
GOAT: greatest of all time. The top person at that position in history. No one has ever been better.
Example: Shula is GOAT.
T3: Top 3 of all time. One of the 3 best in history at that position.
Example: Marino is T3.
Elite: Top 5 currently playing. One of the 5 best at that position currently in the league
Example: Cameron Wake is Elite.
DG: Damn(Darn) good. One of the Top 15 at the position in the league.
Example: Branden Albert is DG.
Solid: Not the best player but not embarrassing either. Solid contributor. Might make the occasional play. Average.
Example: John Denney is Solid.
CP: Crappy player. Not good. Is a major hole at the position.
Example: John Jerry is CP.
WOAT: Worst of all time.
Example: Legedodo Nanaint and Jon Martin are WOATs.

You owe me an apology.
And to the guy I bet that we would finish behind Buffalo last season, you were right, barely and with a little luck. Good call.
NOW...2014 ! FINALLY. We are a little short at LB and OG, but this team is FINALLY gonna make us proud, and don't be suprised if this new GM (whom I want to erect a statue of outside "Joe Robbie Stadium" already), will bring in some depth sometime this preseason at Guard and Tackle.
I like your idea ...

I agree with Goat....I agree with elite...T 3 is fine...
For me in all my years it's simple.
Starting from bottom to elite.
Bad player= Jon Martin
Decent\pretty good player= Koa Misi
Good/solid= randy Starks
Great player/elite at position= Brent grimes, wake..
It's basically four levels of play..bad..pretty good/decent....solid/good...great/elite.72 Dolphins likes this. -
I agree in general. I think that there needs to be a distiction between a solid starter and an average starter though. Solid is a guy who isn't a Pro Bowler, but who you're happy to have in his position and would be comfortable for years to come. Average is a guy who's ok being the starter this year, but who you may want to replace with a free agent or in the draft next year. Poor/crappy is the step below that, where the guy might just be getting by, and needs to be replaced when you get the chance. Liability is the bottom, where the guy is clearly hurting the team RIGHT NOW and needs to be taken out of the lineup.
GOAT
Elite
Great
Solid
Average
Poor
Liability
WTF! Cut him! -

Lamar Miller resides somewhere between Solid and CP.

We are all on the same side, thats the bottom line. He'll always be a Dolfan Brother to me but I reserve the right to say...TOLD YOU MFer..haha.
I kid with the "D" ....I actually love his enthusiasm and his love of the Dolphins. -

I don't think you can have a number attached to the word elite?? Because there might be more than 5, or there might not be five..
Now that I think about it, any player that I think is great is elite...great is great, it shouldn't be less than elite...idk. -
So what does it mean when maynard pm's you "Hey big boy, wanna J in my B?" -
But I accept, that was a horrific gut vomiting, blah blah, whatever else call. One out of 50 ain't bleeping bad. -
Considering how long you held on to the angst over that plus this is the first post of yours I remember, I might have been right about the troll part though......:lol:P h i N s A N i T y and Alex13 like this. -

It's a testament to Shula that it took SO many years of bad coaches and GMs to erode this great franchise.cdz12250 likes this.
