I guess we'll never know if the Parcells structure would've done us any good or not. It's hard to say because guys he has picked haven't always worked out when left to themselves (Al Groh, Pete Carroll). We still have a pretty good roster of talent, with the holes you mentioned. I'll think we'll be ok bro. Maybe this will inject some much needed energy.
Right there with you Deej! Feel like this is the beginning of a team that leapfrogs the Jets and gives the Pats a run for the money.
Bro, if we get a young Qb out of all of this, I'll be happy(ier) with all of this. I do think we needed to do things very differently on offense as the pats had changed up on as well, so had the Bills, but is this the right move? Do think JH is a football head, not sure how that will translate to play on the field. I also think Ricky Williams is a snake.
It already had, the prior 3 seasons 16-32 with Parcells 25-22. And we had gotten younger as well, did wonder if Sparano would have taken the needed steps to clean things up, jettisoning 3 Staff members, maybe more.
i have a bad sense about this. his passing offense was nothing special till he got Luck. We basically traded a run heavy offense for a run heavy offense lol and the way he's handled himself in college makes me think he's going to get a wake up call in the NFL. We'll see though. Maybe we get the first college coach in who knows how many years who actually succeeds. Doubt it but what the hey
The only problem I see with how Sparano jettisoning staff members is that it takes him entirely too long to make the move. It's like the house has to be already engulfed in flames before he thinks "oh crap, I need an extinguisher". No doubt about getting younger and more talented though. Perhaps some of that credit should go to Ireland.
Several completely positive things: - we could land big named FA once again - stabilization, maybe boring, there were no drama queens for very long - from 16-32 to 25-22 - Drafts actually produced players who could contribute..recall the string of #1 picks who were busts? - the team stopped beating itself via dummy penalties, many forget that prior to Sparano we were among the penalized teams in the NFL with false starts becoming almost a joke. We also have 4 of the 5 Foundational pieces, Wr/Cb/De/Left Tackle
Which is true but keep in mind JH did work with Gruden and does have experience on offense outside from 2 Te I formations, and we have some good pieces on the Staff but we are losing Bowles, but we will gain a better Special Teams Coordinator, that was something I was not certain Sparano would have done. Gansz Jr/Steve Crosby/Brad Seely all on the market all solid ST guys, I always felt Sparano undervalued what ST could do for a team.
