It runs the full spectrum.....we also are interviewing Ray Farmer.... Abramson posted the the feeling is Brian Gaine will get the job and report to someone.... Dawn Aponte supposedly has now pulled her name from the league VP job....and Ross declined to say if GM would report to her. Really....I have such a sour taste in my mouth from all this soap opera crap.
@AbramsonPBP8h But again, people say Stephen Ross can be unpredictable so that's just a feeling at this point. @AbramsonPBP8h As for Dolphins GM, most people I'm talking to say S.Ross hard to read, but growing feeling Gaine could be promoted to GM w/someone over him http://www.finheaven.com/showthread.php?350594-Abramson-The-feeling-is-Gaine-is-the-guy
Essentially if they promote Brian Gaine and put him underneath Dawn Aponte, then what the Dolphins have is the Joe Philbin Show. Everyone is going to live or die according to how Joe Philbin gets the team to perform in 2014. It's a one year punt. It could be that Tom Gamble is not ready to leave Philadelphia yet as his father is still in hospice care there, and Steve Ross may be wrestling with the notion that if he gives the current cast of characters one year and they don't succeed then he can start new in 2014 with a clean sweep. At that point he could look at GMs and offer the ability to hire the HC as part of the package, or he could look at HCs and offer the ability to hire the GM as part of the package.
I wish people would quit bringing up the Manning situation as evidence of anything when it comes to the Dolphins. The bottom line is this: Of all the teams interested in Manning, Denver had by far the most cap space, and was therefore able to offer him the most lucrative contract. Is it any coincidence he signed with Denver??? He could see that Denver not only had room to give him the deal he wanted, but would also have additional cap space to bolster his supporting cast.
Oh..think you read it wrong..or I phrased it poorly. I was meaning you have some saying we are interviewing Farmer...while others say Gaines is thought to be the next GM. I honestly know nothing about Farmer. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Not to mention the roster had a bunch of talent on it already. Any team "lead" to the playoffs by Tim Tebow and wins a game has a strong foundation built into it. They were a QB away from being seriously relevant. Combined with all of the above, Denver was perfect.
How about your elbow? Could he poop on that? Walter, stop wasting our time already and just tell us *which* body part you'll allow DJ to drop deuce on!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I understand that with Ross as the owner and Ireland as the GM, none of these individuals felt the Dolphins were the type of organization they wanted to be a part of. That says a lot more about the ownership of Ross than anything else.
Albert Breer reported yesterday that the Dolphins still haven't reached out to Gamble. Not sure what's going on there.
Denver had the most monry to offer Manning and had just won a playoff game with Tim Tebow. Why should that be surprising? I can't say why Fisher didn't come aside from wanting more power than we were willing to give....and thank goodness.
