Really good listen. Praises the defense and Henne's progress, among other things. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/audio-on-demand/mike-francesa-1/
Talks about how young the team is all around, and how big it is to start out with 2 road wins. Says he's very happy with Henne's progress, says he's proved in the past (NE game last year) that he can win when the games on his shoulders, offense just getting going. Talked about how good the secondary has been, gave credit to Clemons, as well as Vontae and JA. Talked about his weight loss. Started at 277, which was shocking to me, he never looked anywhere near that. Now, weighs 208. Team strengths and conditioning coaches worked with him. Says Ronnie and Dansby are truly special players. Excited for the big game Sunday night, getting a chance to play at home now after 2 straight road games to start the season.
Coach has lost 69 pounds after February knee surgery. Diet (mostly) and exercise. Hasn't had pasta in about four months and it's killing him.
It's impressive. Isn't it weird though? He never seemed that fat, just chubby...and really short. 277 pounds? Seems incredibly high. Sets a damn good example for the team though!
Hmmmm, makes me think Ronnie might have life as a Dolphin after this season after all. I seem to remember compliments coming from the coaching staff towards Channing before they gave him the new deal. My guess is that it will all be up to how much money Ronnie's agent is going to ask for. Wonder if Ireland learned from Parcells and will try to slip him a sticky note with a figure on it?
