If Sanchez is making $13.5M, I can only imagine what the bar for Brady and Manning will be.

Oh, especially with so many QB starved teams out there.

Some teams front-load contracts, some teams back-load them... Brady seems to always be a steady $5-6M per year.

    Shouldn't be...he signed a 4yr 72 mil contract extension last year as I recall.

    Edit: 9/9/2010: Signed a five-year, $78.5 million contract. The deal contains $48.5 million guaranteed, including a $16 million signing bonus. 2011: $5.75 million (+ $4 million roster bonus), 2012: $5.75 million (+ $6 million roster bonus), 2013-2014: $9.75 million (+ $5 million roster bonuses), 2015: Free Agent

If memory serves me right, Brady took a smaller contract than his market value.

Something he isn't going to do this time because he is mad at the Patriots for using his contract as a way to try to negotiate better contracts for his teammates.

You know how the last year of those backloaded contacts can be. He's not playing for anything close to that next season...on my team or the real Saints team.

Is there any cap hit for cutting a player?

What is the salary cap allowed for each team?

No cap hit for cutting a player or trading a player. Always try to dangle a player for trade before you outright cut him would be my advice.

And the salary cap will be decided as soon as teams are posted on Super Bowl Sunday.

Franchise = average of top 5 salaries at each position (QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, DT, DE, LB, CB, S, K/P)
Transition = average of top 10 salaries at each position (QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, DT, DE, LB, CB, S, K/P)

Transition tag should only get you the right to match any contract. No compensation is awarded if you decline/fail to match however.

Here's what you said... "You know how the last year of those backloaded contacts can be. He's not playing for anything close to that next season...on my team or the real Saints team."

seeing as you can't renegotiate contracts in this GML, that only leaves one other option. :shifty:

Well that's an assumption on your part....and that won't be his cap number if we're using 2010 salaries.
