Tough decisions for the Miami Dolphins http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...9/tough-decisions-for-the-miami-dolphins.html Keep a fourth tailback (Lex Hilliard) or a sixth receiver (Brandon London)? My vote: If you have room on the roster do both. But if not, keep London because he's a head buster on special teams, and that unit certain needs some help. Which position is harder to find? Receiver, or tailback? I say receiver considering a good tailback like Edgerin James was unemployed two weeks ago till the Seahawks came calling, and two dozen talented backs will be on the waiver wire, or on practice squads in a week
Id really like to keep Kershaw, who fits the Parcells mold of big, aggressive MLB. He looked great last night.
- Start Cam. - Cut both Hilliard and London. - Keep Nalbone. - PUP for Roth. - Keep Moses and Walden (and Kershaw).
RB is the easiest position to replace ... Lex is a commodity, not a necessity on this team. unless he can show versatility, we don't 'need' him this year ... i agree with stitch (pete)
As much as I like Lex, I think he'll be let go. I Also think we'll keep Kershaw, dropping Nalbone, PuP Roth and Keep London. edit: 2 minutes later... http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=36785 Never listen to me apparently
I am not saying I want him to stay because while I think he is good but we have other needs. There were a lot of people on here that were all for him when he had a break out preseaon game
Disagree. I like the way he runs. A physical player. Give him some time, and he can turn into something.
Nah I don't think so he doesn't have the speed or the acceleration to even be a number 2 back. Of course this is all my opinion of him from what ive seen thus far in the preseason.
Then put him on the practice squad.... I really don't think someone will give him a contract to be on their 53 man roster.
There is a chance someone will, though. And obviously, the FO like Hilliard, so they won't take that risk. I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't last long, though. This FO is always looking to improve, and they could find someone on the waiver wire.
You make an excellent point, my concern was keeping Lex in case Ricky or Ronnie don't return in 2010, but we can always pick up a decent RB, and I think you're right, WR's take longer to groom in the NFL than RB's do. I think you may have just convinced me. S.O.B.!
