No one said he was special, but 1000 yards being the only receiver or not is not something bad receivers do. I would love to hear a detailed explanation of why he is so bad and would be a better fit in the slot. As for teams that would have started him? The Colts, the Bengals, the Texans, the Vikings, the 49ers, and the Patriots all most likely would have started him. An argument could be made for Seattle and Washington as well.
Wow - some of the "Sell! Sell! Sell!" posts are surprising. I'm definitely not ready to call the whole regime a lost cause and go into rebuilding mode. Some teams have been in "rebuilding mode" since 1998 - not that we necessarily have not, but i'll take what we have going now over starting over again - which guarantees nothing. At the end of the day. right now we really need a win. Ready to give up already on Tannehill? Check out Drew Brees' first two years as a starter in the league... 2002 - 17TD, 16INT in 16 games. rate - 76 2003 - 11TD, 15INT in 11 games. rate - 67
First off drew brees should be in a dolphins uniform right now and non of us would be talking about a qb situation, and go watch drew brees in his first two years, he threw the ball down the field tried to make to much happen settled down and won the west in the 2004. you could compare him to brett favre who threw more picks than anyone yes brett favre won the guy was a gamer and took shots, you know why brees favre montana brady all them guys won because they are/were not scared to fail and take shots. Id take a guy trying to make plays over a guy who sits there like a deer in headlights waiting to get hit, and throws jump ball lobs to downhill recievers. So yes by that mark i would sit him down. AND we have been rebuilding since the 90's whens it time to win LOL
This much is true: whenever you have a young struggling quarterback there will always be someone bringing up the Drew Brees crap. They brought it up to defend AJ Feeley, they brought it up to defend John Beck and they brought it up to defend Chad Henne. It gets old.
someone with a little knowledge, its the same bs LIVE off hopes....sh*t in one hand and put hopes in the other and see which fills up first!!! Tannehill is going to be a qb filler, not a winner
its 4:01 and no trades. this team is clueless but at least Ireland didn't cripple the team for the next GM
Just saw the Eagles traded Isaac Sopoaga (NT) to the Patriots. Haven't heard any other news yet Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Harsh. How many yds did #82 put up last season when he was #1 WR by default. He ISN'T mediocre. Come on! Show some love. Hartline was clutch last season when he was put into the alpha male spot at WR. If anything the Phins havnt taken advantage of him going to No2.
The fumbles are what are really starting to trouble me/piss me off. I think it was NO that he was up the middle, barely touched and coughed it up. Guy from blind side or hit in throwing motion you can't do much about, but a few of them seem pretty weak. For sure? We would know immediately?
Normally true, but with all the injuries id figure someone would have been moves, and wouldn't you know bellicheat made the only move!!!
I bring up the Drew Brees because it's true - it happened. He's not the only QB who took awhile to come around, just a great example. Give our young QB a chance - we had a new olineman last week. Maybe they will gel after more than 3 practices together?!?!? Tannehill is getting better -i watch every game like most of us - he's improving, but still making mistakes. I agree it's time to win - that's my point...not start another rebuilding project by dumping everyone because we've lost a few games in a row - and start another QB search. No one (reasonable) was calling for a rebuild when we were 3-0. I get it, we want to win now. Me too, i was crushed when NE came back on us last week. As soon as Thill fumbled to set up the tying TD i knew it was over, just due to past experience as a fins fan. I'm just willing to give them a bit longer to get this all sorted out, before going on another QB search.
Oh well, I can see us winning two games the rest of the season. Top 10 pick next year, hopefully the new GM picks up an impact player.
Hurricane Katrina scenario and didn't Phins medical ppl think Brees was a risk? We just were never going to get Brees. Let it go.
Truly. And to say he would have been the same player here is crazy. People perform differently in different places. Obviously.
Yea. I read Sopoaga + 6th for the Pats' 5th. http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2013/10/29/eagles-trade-isaac-sopoaga-to-patriots/
Play jets twice, pitt, buffalo again, tampa, san diego, carolina......and you see two wins? Sheesh...
He's on pace for nearly the exact same season as last year with Mike Wallace as a #1. You have bad opinions.
You forgot the Pats again. Stej are mirror images of us. You never know about them or us. Buffalo we beat at home. Tampa we beat. I've got us at 8-8 with a 1 game swing either way. That's IF we don't play half games like we did against Buffalo and the Pats and stop giving games away with turnovers.
If he were playing for the Pats they'd probably be undefeated. He's better than mediocre but not a Pro Bowler.
It's fine that you don't sport wood over the guy's physical characteristics, but in the grand scheme of things it's really not relevant. He's not a dominant, jack of all trades wide receiver but he does certain things better than virtually anyone in the league. The idea that he'd go somewhere else and be buried is bizarre and asinine. If anything, at this point Mike Wallace is holding him back.
He has one of the best head coaches in football leading the way, we've had rubbish. Brees would have gotten killed on this team.
You think he's a good receiver so you have bad opinions as well. No contending team starts Hartline as a number 2 and Hartline doesn't see the field for more than a snap or two for any playoff team last year. Teams don't care for players that lose their footing and fall on the ground on routes as often as Brian does. Wallace sees the field and even Gibson as a slot receiver, but Hartline doesn't.
Come on its the dolphins what did you expect Im guessing they see nothing wrong with this team,I thought we would make some kind of trade.
