I offered a guy Desean Jackson for Brandon Jacobs and the trade got vetoed by the league. Can someone explain the yahoo rules for trades? What do they need, 3 votes? because that's all I can figure there were. 8 team league, btw.

Depends how the league manager sets the rules I think.

I def wouldnt trade Jacobs for Jackson either.

Yahoo's default configuration is that if 1/3 of the league votes no, the trade is rejected. So in an 8 team league, that means 6 teams got to vote, and 2 voted no.

    Sounds like jerks to me.

What a lame league. :pity: That is a major problem of leagues that allow voting on all trades, it unfortunately opens the door to self interest ruining the fun for everyone else. Those who vote no should be required to provide a rational reason for their position.

I think that's a requirement of Yahoo Plus leagues. Disapproving a trade without justification means the disapproval is ignored.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense, there are two jerks in this league that have vetoed both trades so far just for the heck of it. That just takes away from the game, imo. And in this league, the trade was about as dead nuts even as it gets. 21.9 to 21.6 in pts.

And actually, I guess it was 3 that vetoed. 1/3 of 8 is 2.66. I read the yahoo rules and it counts the people involved in the trade as well. It should be majority rule.

Thats why I make all leagues Im in set to commish votes for pay leagues. If anyone has a dispute, we post it on the league board and figure things out ourselves :)

But ya, that probably deserves to be vetoed. Jackson wont start once Curtis gets back. Curtis and Reggie Brown are still the starters there as fas as I know and Curtis did have 1100 yards last year.

You don't think Jackson will start? He's what, only the 2nd NFL receiver in history to start his career w/ 2 100yd games. I think he'll see plenty of action. And with Jacobs part of a 3-headed monster, and injury prone, that was a fair trade, imo.

RB's that are a solid bet for 1100 yards and 8-10 TDS have way more value than a guy who at best is a 3rd wr. Desean Jackson is and will be a slot receiver for this year. If he approaches 850 and 6-8 TDs not only will it be a bit more then I expect it still doesnt approach Jacobs' stats that he had last year even with injuries. Further, you forget, that because Jacobs had injuries last year he probably can get better.

As far as Jacobs 3 headed monster concerns...theyre probably valid but none of those guys are really any more serious a threat then say Michael Turner was to LT for all those years. They'll take some carries but Jacobs is still around 5ypc and the clear cut starter for 18-20 carries a game. Plus the OL is one of the top 5 in the league. :wink2:

Yahoo voting goes all over the place. I've got ridiculous trades in my favor not even vetoed and I've got fair trades vetoed.

I guess we'll see how the season goes. I'm guessin Jackson has more fantasy pts. this yr than Jacobs (ppr league/return yds). And as far as Curtis last yr, he had almost 300 yds in one game. So that's 800 or so in 15 games, what's that..less than 60 ypg avg?

It will be an interesting matchup to watch though, I'll have to keep an eye on it now for curiousity sake.
