I'm going to do something alittle different tonight, and skip some of the action that isn't worthy of reporting. A lot of the early parts of the practice sessions are full of short, easy drills, and they conduct these same drills every day they come out to practice. It's kind of a waste of time for me to report that stuff considering it's the same every time...

So, onto the meat and potatoe's of the day shall we??..

The first thing that stood out today was when they lined-up in the WC offense and attempted a few deep passes. Pennington overthrew Ricky deep down the left side, and when Henne got hus turn, he made it count hitting his pass. There wasn't any coverage to speak of, but since we don't see them in the WC very much at camp {3 or 4 plays a report}, I thought it was worth noting...

The QB's / WR's then start working together. Here, they send 3 WR's out on different routes, and each QB has one he has to hit. I didn't get every single pass / catch on record, but for the most part everyone looked really good. The QB's were all on target here, and I didn't see any drop's. At the very end of this drill, Henne hit Turner deep for about 40 yards...

There was something different that happened in today's session that I have yet to see. They had Pennington / White running 7-7 run drills, and Henne working with some of the WR's / DB's on the opposite side of the field. It wasn't a very long drill, but it was good one to watch Henne to get some extra time throwing against coverage. He threw a great bomb that was complete to Turner for a TD, and finished that drill very strong...

    ~ 11-11 Run Drills ~ {Opposite Field Action}

CP - Shotgun, handoff up middle, 2yrds..

CP - Run left, small hole, 4yrd gain...

CP - Run up middle, nice gain, 7-10yrds...

CP - Up middle, no gain that time...

CP - Offsides defense, no play...

CP - Up the middle, no gain...

At this time, the OL goes off to start working alone. I see Taylor and Porter working together on pass rush tech, they're just working on spin moves ect ect...

CP - Playaction, throws left, complete to TE for about 6-7...

CP - Throws down the right sideline complete for about 8....

CP - Goes deep down the right side, WR was mugged, flag on the play...

CH - Throws 15yrds down the sideline, incomplete. Good coverage on the play...

    ----------------------------

CH - BOMB!! TD!! 50yrds, great leaping catch by Hartline...

CH - 20yrd lazer over the middle complete...

CH - Shotgun, looks right, throws short underneath for about 5...

CH - Another lazer over the middle, 15yrds, dropped. Good throw...

CH - Throws left sideline, too hard and too high, incomplete...

PW - Nobody open, throw away...

PW - Over the middle 7yrds, overthrown, incomplete...

PW - Throws left side 10yrds, complete, but the WR came back for it, wasn't the best looking throw....

    -----------------------------

CP - Looks left, buzzer blows, sack...

CP - Rolls right, gets around right side, but the buzzer blows before throwing. No sack, just no play....

CP - Throws a strong ball to the right flagsticks, broken up. Good coverage...

CP - Shotgun, throws down middle 15yrds to Bess, incomplete, good coverage again...

CP - Quick throw left sideline, complete for about 5-7yrds....

    ------------------------------

CH - Shotgun, throws left 6-7yrds complete, good catch...

CH - Shotgun, throws a lazer 10yrds over the middle, complete. Nice throw...

CH - Throws short left-mid, complete for about 4-5...

PW - Throws short underneath, ball tipped, almost picked, caught by OLman, no play...

PW - Thows deep right, overthrown, incomplete. Nice try...

PW - Shotgun, steps up, throws right, dropped 7yrd pass....

That was the end of what was a very hot day today. It was a productive day though, and I walked away very satisfied in today's session. The offense looked much better today, and from my chair, I think this was the best day of practice they've had thus far. I think they're coming along nicely...

On a sidenote, I'm not going to be reporting tomorrow. Sorry, but I have an important appointment I have to keep. I'll be back on Friday though. Until then, hope you enjoyed it, today was really a good day of practice!!

    PHINZ RULE!!!

    Thanks for the report.

According to they reporters tweets today, Pennington had a rough day holding onto the ball with snaps, fumbles, and interceptions.

    What did you see there?

Also they have said Henne throws maybe they best 15 yard out pass they have seen since...well, we don't have to name is name. LOL Seriously, they said his arm is wicked strong.

    Thanks for the report man!

Looks like Chad Henne is coming along nicely.

Thinking back, what WRs stood out and which ones dropped the ball the most?
