Looks cool. Wish HBO would've picked up 'Blade' the series. It got stuck on Spike TV and failed miserably.

 

not bad bro. i need another great sunday show out of hbo. it was okay. the thought of rednecks, vampires, and redneck vampires doesnt sound great on paper, but it should be ok. i think this weeks episode will make or break for me.


anyone catch sons of anarchy btw on FX? wasnt awful either.

I like Anne Rice's vampires, but now that she's lost her ****ing mind I won't be enjoying those anymore, although I had hoped a treatment like this one could have been conceived for her works.

 

I caught the premier after Entourage and thought it was pretty good. I still need a few more episodes to determine if it a winner or not.

 

Has potential, not ready to say it'll be great or anything though.

Caught the first episode with a friend; she liked it far more than I did.

I didn't dislike it, but the setting could use some work. Dirt-poor, white-trash vampires?

Going to try to catch the second episode this week.

 

It's just that when it comes to vampires - immortals - I'd like to think that if you're going to "live" for hundreds of years, you'd want to find a way to do it in luxury rather than squalor. Even if the squalor is only in your surroundings and not in your own circumstances.

Ah, don't mind me...I'm spoiled by Rice's vampires!

 

I like this show as well. Its not your reg. vampire show, which is cool. Its a really cool idea.

 

Im pretty hooked. I either like shows or I dont so Ill probably be watching from here out unless it gets silly.

I like the ideas though. The thought that humans and vamps could co-exist of there was some kind of substitute for human blood. For the record I dont think the cast is meant to be viewed as white trash in most cases. Theres a lot of history in the deep south, good and bad, and I think that everything from the housing, to the style of clothes, to the wording is meant to conjure up thoughts of what the old south and the current south are/were like. For example when I think of communities in the deep south I tend to think of them along the lines portrayed. Everything from the fact that everyone knows everyone else to the fact that all the houses have big front porches and seem to be built on hills and huge estates seems straight out of my head. Just my perspective.:)

Edit: also, the way they talk and act is very southernly...that is very polite and no slang.

Good show, episode 2 was better than 1 and the clip of the 3rd episode made it seem like that trend could continue.

Me too...the only thing that drives me nuts thanks to the woman, is her gap in her teeth,,,,,but....small price to pay..lol.

I watched the 1st two eps today and am hooked as well. When I first started watching it I was like umm I don't know. ( I didn't like how the hillbilly with the trucker hat's fangs popped out at the beginning. Kinda looked corny.) I thought it was going to be about the typical group of vampires that try to stay secret from the public, but no it takes a different perspective as where they are trying to live with regular people with everyone knowing. So far I'm liking it. Boy it really leaves you hanging at the end of the eps.

 

It's already been picked up for a 2nd season.

its been fun and interesting. thats a good combo. being the lead in to entourage dont hurt either.

 

I like how it made you start to think the bar owner could somehow turn into that dog and then cut to him with the dog the very next scene. That dog is someone or something trust me on that.

I liked it. It keeps it interesting. The Fangstasia was odd, but the show is odd. Maybe thats why I like it. I do like how they keep Bill evil while making him the "hero" so to say of the show. I mean after all he's a vampire!

yes that is was. But they always end on a weird anticlimatic note. I still think there is a connection with him and the dog.

 

Yea, he said that painting in his office was old or whatever and it has a dog(I think its the same dog) in it with a girl I think.
