Interesting segment. Even Joy has something positive to say:

Well my eyeballs tell me Tua was doing it in Alabama and he’s doing it again this year, but I didn’t see much of it in the Flores regime.

I think I have to go back to Steve Young to think of another QB who’s as good at moving DBs with his eyes as Tua is.

I recall watching Kurt Warner breaking Tua down last year when Warner gave Tua praise for using his eyes for moving defenders. It never would cross my mind that a coach would try to take such a subtle but effective tool out of his arsenal. I'm wondering if it was Flo or his two-headed OC monster that thought he shouldn't employ it.

What a difference a year makes.

I’d put my money on it being Flo. You had the press conferences last week where Tua was saying his coaches made him think he sucked at football, and McDaniel saying his first priority with Tua was to rebuild Tua’s confidence in his skills. That’s very much from the Belichek school of breaking a player down mentally so he’ll be an obedient little robot.

We once had a coach that told a QB to stop throwing to the open receivers and start going through progressions first. Coaches can be stupid.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter. The Dolphins should be winning this game, and are losing/likely going to lose because of Tua's play.

Tua cost us this game today. It's all on his shoulders for his terrible play in a big game again.

Yeah Tua lost this game for us. He's still a franchise QB. It's just a mental thing he'll have to learn from.

He has choked in every big game he's ever been in. He will never be a viable option at a starter if he can't win the big games.

Against a backup QB, the Phins get blown out by double digits. It was 90% Tua's poor play that cost us the game, with a bit of blame on the defense for making a backup QB look pretty good.

Every time I think this team has turned a corner they crap the bed when it matters most.

He's a paper tiger. Did well against poor defenses, which is a big improvement from last year, but not enough. He'll probably play well against the Chargers because their defense is bottom 5 bad. Then will play crap the final 3 out 4 in division against good defenses and bad weather. He can't stay on the field and he can't play well in cold weather. He'll never be a franchise QB because of that.

That is not true. He's had a bunch of "big" games this year. You're just looking for any excuse to diss on him. Face it, he can play at an elite level and with our WR he'll probably play at a high level for many years to come. Only IF Tua plays bad in the next few games (both of our next 2 are big games) and craps in the playoffs does it make sense to sour on him. This is just one game. Means nothing yet.

Oh, and predictably we see a bunch of posters who haven't posted in awhile suddenly come out to diss on Tua. Pathetic really.

    That is convenient.

Especially last year where they had to win 9 in a row and the only one they lost is now the only one that counts

Well your predictions have been wrong most of the season. Problem with your statement of we'll see who's right is that even if you're wrong you're still going to wait to crap on him the next time he plays bad. Wait till playing bad becomes a trend before crapping on Tua. Only then does dissing him have any credibility.

I'll make you a deal. If the Dolphins win next week I will shut up or be positive the rest of the season. That's how confident that I am the Dolphins and Tua are done for the rest of the year.

Nobody really cares. And tbh it would be the first big game Herbert ever wins if they do. We lost to a Super Bowl caliber team with an elite defense on the road. Justin Herbert ... lost to the Raiders.

Chargers are a bottom 5 defense. The offense has too much talent to lose to that.

Tua in Buffalo in mid-December. That's a whole other story.

The Dolphins are choke artists and have been for decades. How any fan doesn't see this is crazy. They need to beat the chargers because they need that tie breaker. Therefore the Dolphins will lose.

What I truly loved about the last five games, you would be such a negative Nancy all throughout the game day threads and have no choice but STFU when Miami won, nullifying every bit of rancor you posted.

Today, the Dolphins lose and with this ONE loss, everything you’ve said over the last 2 months is now suddenly validated?

Your nonsense is really just TOO much.

Yeah I'm not worried about Tua. Something seriously off with him today, but I think he'll rebound. Defense is another story. Been calling for Boyer's head for months. McDaniel refuses to make a move like that. I hope that isn't our downfall this season, but if this defense doesn't suddenly start shutting down opponents we HAVE to get rid of Boyer for next year. Can't have a top offense and crappy defense if you want have decent odds of winning the SB.
