Cue the handwringers who will start clamoring for us to draft Tua regardless, to prevent the Pats from getting him.

What the Pats are doing it isn’t luck. It’s knowing the value of draft picks and free agents. It’s having a plan and taking steps to implement the plan without barking at squirrels.
I doubt Tua lasts long enough for the Pats to draft him, but if they do it’s because they laid the groundwork to be in a position to take a falling QB 5 years ago.

The Patriots are definitely going to take a quarterback this year... whether Brady likes it or not... but i think the plan is to develop the qb behind Brady..

It would be a good situation for Tua who probably needs time to recover. But also Tua needs to probably sit two years to see the pro game. He isnt a prospect I would start Right away in the NFL.

Has anyone noticed that Brady is currently slightly below average statistically speaking?

That's after 402 passing attempts so it's not just too small sample size to dismiss. We'll see if he ends this season below average but if he does this will be the first time in his career that's happened. Furthermore, that statistical result is mostly due to the last 5 games which was mostly against weaker competition (3 of the 5 were NYG, NYJ and CLE) and it's not like NE as a team is suddenly weaker (anything but!).

So with 6 games to go it's possible we may see the first true statistical evidence of Brady's decline.

I mean, Tua to the Pats would be a dream scenario for him since he'd sit for a few years while learning the "Patriot Way"...and it would be a pure nightmare for Miami if he did actually develop. We cleared the roster for cap space anyway so at this point, I'm drafting Tua no matter what if he's there in the middle of the 1st and developing him for a few seasons.

That's exactly why we tanked in the first place...not essentially for Tua, but to build a complete roster the right way. That starts with having your QB of today and hopefully your QB of tomorrow in the system as well.

He finished 2013 with an 87 passer rating. Do you happen to know what the average rating for that year was?

I've been talking about his decline in The Club for over a month. It's easy to see that he's done. He knows where he wants to put the ball, but he just can't get it there anymore.

This is Brady's last year in NE. Who would Tua sit behind?

Why do you think that? Did Brady come out and actually say it? I agree it should be his last year....but I'm not sure it will be.
