The only thing about that would be how long-term would it be? I could see it happening, but only if there was absolutely NOBODY satisfactory (by Bill's standards) to fill the job. I don't think he'd be there for more than three years and we need a guy who can build this team long-term.

 

I think the reality is that Sparano is really choice 1, 2 and 3. Only on the outside chance that he says no thanks does Parcells choose someone else

 

I had to do a quick google search to make sure he didnt have an illegitimate SON also named Bill Parcells.

Our HC search would have to go oftly bad to end up stating "I couldnt find anyone else qualified so I pick myself".....hahahahahaha, got to love this franchise and the rumor mill sometimes.

I would not be suprised if Parcells would coach the team. I know he said he would not coach, but when the hell has anyone believed ANYTHING he has said? How many times has he said that he would never coach again after retiring from NE, Jets, etc.

 

Parcells won't be the next Dolphins Coach. Period.

Mariucci's is an offense guy who had a plethora of tools at Frisco from '99 to '03 and was there when everything came unraveled. Took his WCO to Motown and imploded. He inherited a dynasty and at the end it came unglued. Now, a lot of it was not necessarily his fault but he has not shown the ability to take a downtrodden situation and uplift it. See Detroit as exhibit B. He is a fair to middling coach who he is not cut out for a job with the challenges that he will have in S. Fla. He does not come off as a Tuna guy. And if you aint' a Tuna guy he ain't hiring you.

Some of the media "tools" threw out Maurice Carthon's name as a possibility.He's definitely a Parcells guy.

 

Like someone else said, I think Sparano is their guy but they can't really hire him till Dallas is out of it which could be early Feb.....which is not a good thing as free agency starts soon after and then the draft....and of course you need to get your assistant coaches in place too.I'm a little worry about that.
