Just when you think Chad Henne is turning the corner... bam, down he goes with what looks like a knee. I won't speculate, but the injury will set him back more than Chad Pennington starting at qb. I thought we took some steps today as a team.

Offensively, aside from the qb carousel, Henning seemed to realize that going with no backs in the backfield, and a five wide look gave this offense the best chance to move the ball. Thank GOD! Now, I'm not happy we can't run the football anymore, but at least it's taking advantage of the situation by trying to do the best with what you have. Prior to the Henne injury, really thought that the offense was turning the corner. Sure, he wasn't connecting with Brandon Marshall but he was finding the other guys who were open and winning their one on one matchups. Anthony Fasano with a HUGE day. Brian Hartline very solid as well, if only he could be consistent from one week to the next. Speaking of inconsistent... it's the offensive line stupid! That's the problem with our offense... it's not necessarily the play of the qb.. or the play calling (which was excellent today by the way), Richie Incognito should apologize to Chad Henne for getting him hurt today. He really struggled vs Tony Brown. The only OL who was rated above average IMO was Jake Long today. We couldn't execute a damn run play today to save our lives... sure the Titans had 8 in the box, but you still got to execute for those 3 yard gains. Until the Wild Cat in that 3rd / 4th qtr, the OL was having a nightmare of a day.

Defensively, for the most part had a decent day today. Sure, they gave up yardage to Chris Johnson on the ground, but really no HUGE plays there. Our D is susceptible to giving up the run when the offense goes to three wide formations... been happening all year. Collins struggled mightily until he went out at the half. The tackling was much improved over last week. Thought Al Harris provided a spark with his tackling and physical play. Vontae continues to be inconsistent in his coverage... he seems to be in great position, but he's got to find the ball when it's in the air. Thought Reshad Jones was excellent at the end with the impact plays... he's an impact player and is going to be a good one. He can tackle and play the pass.

For once, when we scored our TD at the end there, thanks to Thiggy and Fasano, our D stepped up and didn't allow a TD going the other way. I know it only feels like that's the first time we've done it all season but nice to get the job done there at the end of the game. It's a team game, and for this team to win, both offense and defense must feed off one another's energy...

Moving forward... short term, I reckon Thigpen can get the job done.. love his mobility... he seems to really be well liked with his teammates too (including the Beast). If he continues to play well, I think he could supplant Henne as the starter even if Henne comes back healthy this year. (not sure about next year, we'll worry about that when the time comes)....Going to be interesting how he evolves in this don't turn it over offense. But I hope that the faith we showed in him at the end of the game (letting him throw it) continues.
