Been saying that about Incognito and have been surprised he has not seen snaps at Center in practice.

Sounds like they are just making sure with some guys.

Watch out Q, you are not on the bikes for long in Davie..

Sparano really should leave Nolan alone in that one, he may not like blitzing, Nolan has to be given free reign to call what he thinks is best.

That is what "I like to create pressure with the rush" means, ie, base 3-4, huge mistake imho, the rules do favor the Wr's, how long do you expect them to cover?

When you have young Cb's do you really want them to cover all over the field when base pressure doesn't get it done?

A part of the problem with staying vanilla in the preseason is that having a feel for "who" has the knack of creating pressure is unknown, for example "we" may feel Wake is the best pressure player, but it could be Dansby or YBell or Chris Clemons, who are better at running dogs.

Much of good defense is timing, some players just have a good internal clock and can time things..with game speed being totally different than practice speed..how do you know who can do what?

Blitzing ineffectively leaves the Corners on an island just as badly as not blitzing, so i understand what Sparano is saying. I certainly don't think Sparano is going to tell Nolan to stop blitzing if its working, but Nolan has a tendency to keep blitzing when its NOT working.

Denver letting go of Nolan wasn't entirely just because of his bad blood with McDaniels. Nolans defense started out on fire in Denver then Nolan failed to switch it up and the defense became predictable. Denvers defense started out top 5 in the first 8 weeks and slipped a bit as the season went on. Nolan does need to be kept in check.

I don't believe that is the case NJ, they appear to be giving backups first team reps so they can be up to speed just in case there is an injury in the preseason or early regular season.

    Nope.

Crowder was riding the bike again today. Simply an injury issue.

Lack of depth really hurt the Broncos though, Vonnie H was by far their best Dlineman and he was a dolphin cast off.

Sparano has to trust the guy or he shouldn't have hired him imho.

That's what I got out of the quote. Keeping pressure is great, but if it becomes predictable, going blitz heavy is counterable too. If you don't mix it up and focus too much on one avenue or another, you're going to get burned by a good offense, pure and simple.

To be fair to Nolan, it was Denver's run defense that really fell apart, which was less a scheme issue and more just the players they had wedged into the 3-4 breaking down and simply not being great fits.

Witness Jamaal Charles 200+ yard performance. Per haps there was something scheme wise Nolan could've done but I think it was more a player fit issue. That won't be a problem here.

I love Nolan and think he's our biggest/best pickup this off season, HOWEVER, I want Sparano to keep Nolan in balance, if guys like Brees and Peyton Manning know a blitz is coming every down, they'll burn you big time for it.

Nolan's 09 D was the only one to hold Manning in check, they had 2 Int's after the Colts started out fast that game...McD did not like it and it led to Nolan leaving Denver..

Crowder is injured. I think Dobbins is a solid player, but he doesn't have the coverage abilities of Crowder. I'd imagine Crowder is next to Dansby come the Buffalo game.
