and once again the roster is thrown into chaos as we have no idea what Garner, Oglesby status is, and who was just signed (#41).

CK didn't like that signing, I happened to like it simply because I happened to believe the big fella was distracted in 09 and still put up decent stats for the SB winning Saints team, add in he doesn't have to be "the man" on the Dline and I just thought he could make an impact as a 200 snap player on passing downs.dolfan7171, FinFan316 and 2xBlown like this. -

With the camp body Cb problem, AJ Wallace looks kinda dumb for walking away from Training Camp..

If this staff has Pat white come out and play his time operating a full on Proset formation, I think I might lose it.
To take a player that has excelled in college at the spread and the wildcat, and completely try to teach him differently and operate him differently in the pro's, knowing his skillset, could be worse than not playing cam wake on obvious passing downs last year...both boggle the mind... -

In many ways I agree with that Deej, having White drop back and read then throw is not his strong suit, however sooner or later he will have to do exactly that, and the Staff needs to see him doing so.
I really want to see if his quickness has improved, so I'd like to see out on the edge of the defense and see if he can make plays while out there. -
-
Just the kind of ongoing tinkering I expect at this point in TC. Hope Jerry works out at RG, would love to see D Thomas start at LG too, would make for a very young and STRONG OL for a long time. Incongnito just scares me with his anger/penalties problems.

If your gonna draft the best college wildcat player with a high 2nd round pick, AND YOU DON'T GO THERE, THAN WTF ARE YOU DOING.!!
He better run the pistol/wildcat....or else they got some real splaining to do.ToddsPhins and Larryfinfan like this. -

Problem with that is, I've seen players who practice well but play badly, and those who practice poorly but play well.Bpk likes this. -

Kevin Hobbs, eh?
Slow Auburn safety that's eeked out a role as a slot nickel back in the NFL. Played that role for one of the most porous pass defenses in football last year, allowed 33 of the 36 passes thrown his way to be caught for 301 yards, only got 1 pass defensed out of it.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is just a camp body.ssmiami likes this. -

Padre, I think that guy who e-mailed during SICK's show asking about your hand up a Pat White puppet at training camp may be on to something. I don't buy the Thigpen having a bad training camp simply because both White and Thigpen have had bad training camps. You can't really talk about Thigpen's INT problem and then say "it happens" when Bell intercepts White. Thigpen has won games in the NFL already and in game time situations when Pat White came in he completed nothing yet in the same game Thigpen got Bess deep. He did throw some INT's though. Either way, I'm only saying this because I dislike Pat White as a player and I liked Thigpen from the days he knocked off Brodie Croyle. Thigpen brings 11/15ths the mobility of White with a rocket arm and better accuracy. His upside is just much better.

Our left guard position is another position that is paying for Miami drafting Pat White too high last year. Admittedly, I was for taking Clint Sintim at that spot. He was perfect for this defense. One of my alternate guys was Andy Levitre though, and he would be starting at left guard for Miami today if they had drafted him. Instead, we got a stinking fourth string quarterback who some like as a gimmick player.
Ryan Grice-Mullen has fallen behind in the pecking order as a return man, so for him to make the team, he has to show me some receiving skills. I think his chances of making the team are diminishing by the day. That last spot will probably come down to Patrick Turner, Julius Pruitt, and Roberto Wallace. I would personaly take Pruitt over Turner.texanphinatic likes this. -
That I'm not buying into simply because he was traded so cheaply out of KC.
Numerous reasons why that happened, the NFL values Qb's, why was he valued so cheaply? -
i'm beginning to think it is as they re signed Ray Feinga, if Garner was going to be out just a short time, why sign him?
If Jerry wins that job, Incognito needs some time at Center so he can offer some flexibility.
Taurus Johnson being waived only helps both players chances.

I expect that CP will be our third, emergency QB every game and that our second QB will be either Thigpen or White. I think Thigpen has a higher upside in that potentially he could be a bottom half starter, but that White has and probably will out work him. I don't think White will ever be a starter quality player, but I do think potentially he could be a more consistent version of what Thigpen is now. Will Thigpen ever reach that potential? Has White already drawn even with Thigpen?
I liked the Grant signing. I thought and think he is a borderline lock to make the final roster.
If Carroll wins the KR/PR position I expect that they'll keep one of the bigger deep threats as the 5th WR. That's good news for Pruitt and Wallace and bad news for RGM. -

I think the best OL guys in order are:
1. Long
2. Carey
3. Grove
4. Berger
5. Garner (depending on the injury)
6. Jerry
7. Incognito
8. Thomas
9. Hartline
10. Procter
They'll certainly keep 8. They might keep 9. I think the top 5 on that list are good starter quality players. I think our OL can be really good/great as long as 4 of the top 5 start. -
These are just normal training camp nicks and bumps.
Quite frankly a guy like Will Allen barely even needs participate in training camp at all, and he could still be ready to play well during the regular season. Same goes for Vernon Carey.
Tony Sparano warned us that this training camp he would vow to do a better job of going easier on the veterans, pulling them out of practices to make sure that they don't hurt themselves, etc. That's what we're seeing right now. There's not a whole ton they're getting out of camp right now anyway. They should be given chances to rest up, baby whatever limbs are a little sore at the moment, etc.Bpk, Gunner, VanDolPhan and 5 others like this. -

It's like we lose a player a practice, I've never seen anything like this.Bpk likes this. -
Omark seemed to think Thiggy's "offense" would be M Moore, R Wallace and DMart, that would make White's Turner, RGM and Nalbone.

While some of the sittings obviously are a result of being injured, some I believe are more a precautionary move.
Will Allen being healthy and able to contribute as one of the top three CB's is an important aspect to this defence. So , fingers crossed , this is more about being prudent than reacting to a limiting injury.
