Phinvader BillNew MemberOPLet me start by saying that I have not and never will read the books, and that the only reason I've seen the movie is because my wife likes it.
Anyway, I've seen the trailer for the new movie, and there were a couple questions/points that it presented for me.
1...Apparently, it is forbidden for vampires to be involved with humans. Edward HAD to have known this before inticing the co dependant Bella. And in doing so, HE has put her life in jepordy.
2...Why would ANY man want to be with a woman who throws herself on the floor and throws a temper tantrum when he leaves her? Not to mention attempts suicide to try to get him back.
3...It just seems that Bella is a spoiled brat, and he is a disturbed stalker/womanizer. Uses them and tosses them away (Not that I could blame him for wanting to get as far away from that psycho as possible) But my point here is that if a man did half the things that EC did in the first movie, and appears to do in the second, any self respecting woman would get the hell away from him.
4...My wife tells me that its like a Romeo and Juliet type story. BULL! Romeo and Juliet was based on a feud between families. (likely mafia looking back on it) Twilight is about a vampire stalker who seduces a teenage girl, KNOWING that by doing so, he is risking both their lives.
5...My wife also says its based on a dream the author had. I don't buy it. SM is a couple years older than me, and at 36, I remember maybe 3% of my dreams. She expects us to believe that she remembered 4 novels worth of dreams? Bull.
6...I would question any parent who lets their teenage boy or girl watch this crap. It teaches boys that its ok to womanize, play head games, and do things without taking the consequences into consideration. It teaches girls that it is ok to be dominated and controlled by a man. And the only reason I say 'teaches' is because of how so many teens idolize this franchise.

Phinvader BillNew Memberlol. No, I keep my man card. I saw the trailer before watching Saw 6...with the wife who spent the rest of the previews yacking about how she cant wait to see it. Later, I told her that I didnt care who she went to the movie with, but it wasn't going to be me.

I can't believe I just found this thread. I was like there is no way that thephins will like have a like Twilight thread. Now all I can say is oh ma god this is soooo awesome!
Like the only way this movie could get better is if the movie had the Jonas Brothers in it then my heart would like explode (they are so hotz just like the Edward vampire and the sexy werewolf).

Jaydog57forum_veteranI swear, they can girly up any storyline to cater to teenager girls, and it just ruins it. But their butts are the ones that fill the seats in the theatres. They've done the vampires and werewolves chick flick bit, I guess zombie's are next.
