Apparently there was supposed to be a meeting tonight of the new leadership council for the team to resolve its issues, and two of the players didn't actually know about it.
Joe Philbin is making Cam Cameron look like Don Shula at this point.

Was Ross told or asked by Wells not to talk to Martin Wed? I read somewhere that Ross was asked.

Obviously, there was a communication breakdown. I suspect that the players were going to be told, but someone slipped and told the media first. It happens. It shouldn't happen in a perfect world, but with all that is surrounding this team amid this ****storm, there is going to be a breakdown.
Have a feeling this team is not as resolute at it showed pre-Tampa game. Things are shaky. Ross' pull as an owner is palatable now, and this staff is sweating. No news from the big guy upstairs is good news for a staff. News is abound now! -
This witch hunt is getting entertaining.
Mike McCarthy trusts Joe Philbin with his children. Now I'm suppose to believe he became an inept buffoon in a year and a half.

I am talking about all of them including Philbin.
He probably believes his stuff as he's saying it, but doesn't actually follow through and demonstrate what he says he believes in, IMO. Saying you have values and making sure your organization is living by them, with you role modeling them, are very different things.

Did Joe Philbin call a meeting of the Leadership Council? Was it a meeting between he and the Leadership Council, or was it supposed to be a meeting of just the Leadership Council with one another?
-
Wow talk about stirring the pot. All this means is that Philbin was aware of the meeting before Wake (and who ever the other unnamed player is). We don't even know why. Maybe Wake was with the trainers so they hadn't been able to get word to him. Maybe they sent text messages and Wake hadn't checked his phone yet. Maybe the player who was suppose to tell Wake got pulled into a meeting and hadn't gotten a chance to tell him yet. Did Wake and the unnamed player attend the meeting? If so this is much to do about nothing.

That said, I'd be curious to see what kind of offense Cam Cameron could have put together with the roster currently assembled. He had Ronnie Brown on pace for a career year and made Vernon Carey into a solid left tackle that season. -
-
Maybe they should have called Ireland to confirm the meeting time. or at least left him a voicemail.

Isn't this the point where we have once again , too many negatives , too few wins , too little real hope to make and then win in the playoffs? Or is this where once again we go let's play this out , I sense progress , a change now would only make it worse?
For me , I support the franchise , of course I have players I like and dislike but I support the team. Just like as a parent , you don't always like what your kids may do , but you always love them . Sometimes you have to do things you both don't like for the bigger picture . Do you believe this regime ( GM / most or all of the coaches ) are the answer to being a consistent playoff team? One that will make a final four in a year or two and Super Bowl shortly thereafter? Personally I don't and more and more questions and negatives arise , so at least for me , you make the change(s) needed. The longer you wait , the longer you wait .... for success imo.
I hear the Chambers Brothers , Time Has Come Today . -
That said, he can't put it all together and has made crippling mistakes. This offseason we will have to overdraft offensive lineman because we have a barren wasteland at the position. Great idea, but in doing so we will have to basically ignore every other weakness. We may need two starting caliber defensive tackles. The corner heavy draft we just had has produced **** all, none of them can be relied on next year. Our starting linebackers look pedestrian, the depth is laughable. We need a bug running back and someone else to compete with Miller.
We fixes one hole while others go unaddressed. He has done a mediocre job. In the NFL, rebuilding should not (unless you are the Browns, Dolphins and Raiders) take 5-6 years. We should have assembled a team ready to make a jump, instead we are a team without an offensive line, which has led to stunted growth from the quarterback and the offence.
Fire him, now. -
As Howard Cosell would have said, a continuing concatenation of incompetence at every level, on and off the field.
-
We all hate this, and we all want a consistent winner again, but I will surely not jump ship or stop watching because the going has been tough. I still love the Dolphins and gamedays as much as ever. I'll stand behind this team through thick and thin no matter what.WhiteIbanez likes this. -
A decade really? I've been a fan of this team for over 40 years.
I now understand the bouse.
