A player will not officially accept an offer sheet until March 19 at 10:00PM EST. If a player is bid on between March 18 at 10:00PM EST and March 19 at 10:00PM EST, that player will accept an offer sheet once it goes a full 24 hours without any additional bids (ala free agency). Please keep in mind you must possess the correct compensation to make an offer on a player. Non-exclusive franchise tags carry TWO first round draft picks as compensation. Transition tags carry no compensation. Restricted free agent tenders carry a variety of levels of compensation. Each team will get approximately 24 hours to choose whether they will match the offer or accept compensation (if any) once the bidding has closed. A team may announce that they will not match an offer once a player is first bid on if they wish however that player will not accept the offer sheet until the appropriate date. Colts can not match the Chargers' bid on Freeman and choose to accept the compensation instead..... I mean, Tampa accepts the compensation instead.
The 2nd round compensation goes to Tampa in part of a trade we conducted a few weeks ago. He was to get either Freeman or the 2nd depending on whether or not someone bid on Freeman.
I know wrong thread but...seemed like where most of the action was atm... Regarding the draft....do we usually cut it off at a certain point during the evening times?
yessir. After I cleared more cap that I thought I would be able to, I was willing to almost break the bank on Williams considering I lost Calais and didn't want to lose my entire D-Line...so I was in a win-win situation with Ta'amu. I either lose him and get a 4th round compensation, but still have Williams/Williams combination at NT, or I keep a young, potential NT in Ta'amu as a backup for pretty cheap.
