Believe it or not, UFL players have a better shot at making an impact this season than the whole pile of scrap heap players.

to me, the two best prospects in the UFL are Odell Thurman and Ezra Butler.

 

So far, Graham Gano and maybe JP Losman are the best players on the field.

Odell Thurman was a big time ILB in 2005 then substance abuse problems got to him, Ezra Butler was a passrushing end from Nevada who failed a drug test and went from 6th or 7th round pick the UFL.

Eh, to me, it is sort of fun football, they are not playing for the money, they just want that one shot to make the NFL for the first time, or again, or one last time like Simeon Rice.

Rice should kick some UFL tackle butt if he still has anything left.

 

When we last saw the Golden boy Losman he was busy fumbling away a Bills win against the Jets late last season...good to see he is consistent...:lol:

 

He is as tiny as Danny Woodhead, but you see Sproiles and wonder if he can play in the NFL.

 

I'm seeing Denny Green and Jim Fassel on the sidelines and i'm recalling those two coaches were successful in the NFL, Green went to a NFC title game and Fassel went to a super bowl with a crappy Giants team.

Back in the day both would still be working in the NFL.

Heck the core of the Cardinals were players Green drafted.

I think Shipp played in Arizona.

#59 is Ezra Butler, there was a bit of buzz about him and Beau Bell heading into Draft 08.

And Pedro Sosa, #74, spent time on our practice squad last season, he was a good prospect who tore his knee up late in the o7 College Season.

 

I kind of like it, to me it is not quite a CFL level of competition as of yet, but I love the idea that those guys are not playing for big money, there are no holdouts in the UFL...they are playing because they like the game or to try and make a NFL rosters.

You don't like the UFL unis, I cannot stand the Ref's wearing black and red, that drives me up a wall, their uni colors are to plain, but the Ref's need a makeover...Ref's wear black and white, not red and black, they look like pop warner football coaches out on the field...

It's okay, the hitting will be crisper in the next round of games.

It sort of surprises me that Losman is not just dominating the game, the man was a #1 pick and he played in the NFL last season, he should be better than he has shown so far.

the Florida team does look interesting SZ33, Wiggins was a good Te and Bell was a pretty good Rb.

Heck they should see if Mouse Davis is still around so we could see an updated run and shoot offense.

 

Well, with the economy the way it is, the UFL is undoubtably a better value than even a U of F game, maybe 50 dollars for the evening, which is a great value if the play is good.

 

I just looked through all of the rosters... a lot of fun names there. People I thought that were going to be great out of the draft, like Craphonso Thorpe... My second favorite backup QB ever, Tim ****ing Rattay... Old, washed up NFL players like Simeon Rice and Todd Sauerbrun... Returners you forgot about like Josh Scobey and BJ Sams... This is kinda cool.

 

Yeah, it sort of is, I don't expect to see the early 80's chargers, but there are names most football fans would know out there playing.
