ithin five years, soldiers in war zones will be wearing Iron Man-style power suits that will make them vastly stronger, a U.S. defense technology firm says.
The company, Raytheon Sarcos, says its XOS 2 suit -- pronounced "exos" -- allows the wearer to carry 150 pounds with little effort and punch through four wood boards at once, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.

I don't think it is practical yet, but them Japanese people are crazy when it comes to robotics and advancing technology. Just wait until something like this is integrated into a exoskeleton.

Eh, slightly different.
The Japanese don't have the budget or clientele necessary to drive such R&D, so they are extremely limited in what they do. Cool concept cars with a lot more work required to become reality.
The US, on the other hand...... Companies like General Dynamics, Lockheed, etc. have ridiculous budgets and a HUGE customer in good 'ol Uncle Sam. What many don't realize is our country's defense budget, the largest in the world by FAR, is what finances a lot of this R&D. It is really what keeps us innovators in the arena.
It's funny, because we can't make a VCR worth a damn - but we can develop flying robots that can kill you (UAV's) :lol:
