oh come on, you're signed through 2011. I wouldnt be concerned about an extension just yet...
-
He's entering the twilight of his career. He deserves to be paid more then any man on that team. He's not going to make it annually, so why not long term? He'll retire a bear more then likely.

Im not sure what the going rate for a probowl caliber LB is but its probably more than 4 million.

I couldn't agree more. Especially one that has been the face of your franchise for yrs, and the most consistent player in and out of the locker room. Chicago's personnel moves, and decisions have been very questionable this off season.

update
Bears president Ted Phillips has spoken with the agent for Brian Urlacher, but not about the extension Urlacher apparently wants.
Urlacher is skipping Chicago's offseason program to show his displeasure. "We were talking to his representatives about how to look at his contract and try to educate them on the value of his deal," Phillips said. That probably won't work, but Urlacher is conditioning on his own and the program is voluntary, so his absence is not a big concern.

"try to educate them on the value of his deal".....whew something tells me this is another ugly contract mess for the Bears...with a similar ending to other contract messes there.

Possible new home for Urlacher.....
