But we’re kicking off this home stretch run by looking at the first of our position round tables and how that pertains to the Dolphins. Chris, Richard and myself have identified what we believe to be the three key positions for the Dolphins; WR, OLB and FS. It may surprise you that NT isn’t there, but we firmly believe the value isn’t available in the first round for a player who’s very unlikely to start and none of us are buying the national obsession with putting Tennessee’s Dan Williams and the Dolphins together at 12. Williams, as previously expressed, is a player who we feel is overrated at this time.
With that in mind, it’s wide receiver this week. It’s a position that Bill Parcells has tended to avoid drafting high, although it’s clear that GM Jeff Ireland is very much his own man and that has been reflected in the draft and free agency during his tenure in Miami. So it makes it difficult to take a particular stance on a position as it pertains to Parcells’s history. Anyway, the three of us got together on Sunday evening, set ourselves three questions to see if we could narrow down the field. Much like last week, all of it is relative to the Dolphins and I’ll try and narrate our way through each category. Here we go:
