Dolphins happy to add LB Keyaron Fox... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7imxMNs0wY"]YouTube- Keyaron Fox picks off Brett Favre and returns 82 yards for a touchdown[/ame]
my source says each of you agreed to the deal... but that you haven't communicated that to one another.
In a 3-4 defense he's pretty useless, however as a 4-3 OLB he's very much worth 1.9 million. I don't need him, however if I did I would have made an offer.
well see i need a 4-3 to make me an offer. none did. i had a separate thread saying here he is make an offer noone did. u want to hold players and overvalue go ahead. B thomas is a decent guy in right system but not holding him, not going to waffle on trades wondering if it is a good or bad move . i offered him up from thr get go, got 1 inquiry. i didnt want him, took best offer. the are plenty of decent qualitty players cut for 0 where cap wasnt sign higher yet i got something so i take it and move on
At 1.9 million there is no way you needed to cut him so soon. You could have held out a while longer is my point. A 7th rounder is absolutely worthless in GM league. Equally as worthless as he was to you.
No i could hold a player and not have the cap space, whatever man i was cutting him, feel free to up the offer to newera and get him. i want the money for fa. when he is out thhere 2+ weeks an 0 interesst then you can decide the value for t at player is still where u thought and keep him or take what the market has shown basicall i was cutting him as others have done. o wasnt holding him, no reason to, not going to hang on to a wish n a hope someone offers mkt on a plyer i wouldnt even bion n have 0 trouble cutting.
You were under the cap already if I'm not mistaken. I dont see how it's a cap move. Free agency doesnt start for a long while, you had time.
Of course, do i want to cut fat? yes oh well you run ur team the way you want. i dont agree w/ howbu do things either , you know what I am talkin about as well. agree to disagree
If you're talking about Woody: 1) I made the offer without my co-gm and told you as much. 2) I told you I needed to consult him before I made anything official. 3) I did so, and we decided his salary was too much. We didnt do anything underhanded or bad.
you never told me that tnere was a Contingency when offering the deal, you waited until the deal was done made it seem like it wasnt a big issue then backed out. its fine not mad but pointing out that you havent done everything so perfect that you rehash a trade of 0 consequence to me, was mere if i get something fine, if not fine. i dont like thomas at thatt $ atall in 3 weeks i had 1 offer, so ME WANTING cap pretty much set before Fa. took it. with ricky trade i added 3.4, so i offset that w/ thomas. u wouldnt have done it, so what? thats my point there r things u did i wouldnt. wrong/right non-issue would i have done things diff if i could start all over, yeah esp cause i didnt know all the rules. but it is what is and overall i am satisfied where I am at
This thread was made for the point of talking about deals that were made. I don't see why you'd care about us doing that. And yes, I told you straight up that I had to talk to my co-gm before I accepted anything as done.
i dont care you discuss it, it is the repeated demonishing of it. you would have held out, i chose to cut and move on. said numerous times i understand your point but disagree as far as the other you t....i aint arguing useless debates
Repeated what? I posted my original opinion, you came back with yours, I came back with mine. You have an attacking attitude towards anyone who dares say one of your trades was kind of iffy.
I dont like the Jags-Texans trade on either side. Doesn't really make either team better. However since the Jags dump cap and get a first rounder I guess its slightly in their favor.
That's because I can't get anyone to play ball... Some of these trades surprise me because I would have been willing to give more to get some of these packages.
I just have some trouble agreeing to a price tag. There are specific positions I'm not willing to overpay for and at other positions, I feel that I can't give up as much as the GM asks for.
Alen, it's too bad you're the Seahawks GM because I feel like had you had more talent on your team (or at the very least had a 3-4 team) we could have pulled off a big one.
Polamalu is going to be the toughest player on my team to get because of how important he is to the steeler D, and his talent and age. That doesn't mean I wouldn't trade him for the right deal, it would just have to be really good and I'd probably have to fill multiple needs.
I hear ya. Well, I chose to put this team as my top one in the five favorites and I knew what I was getting into with it. My goal is right now is to get rid of the talent that I don't think fits with what I want to do. I've gotten rid of a couple guys via trade and cut a few other guys. Trades are bonuses to me. If I can get one done for a deal that I like, then I'm satisfied. If I don't get a trade done, I'm fine with that too and that's basically where I stand right now. I have made few trades but I think that is more because of the price tags than anything else. I don't mean this as an indirect or open insult to other GM's who are working their *** off to complete deals here, I'm simply stating that some of the values placed on players are slightly high in my opinion. However, they feel different and that's fine too. I probably won't win any awards in the end but that's alright. As long as I feel like I improved this team from where it was a year ago, then I'm happy, even if it is with inexperienced guys.
Well you know who I like per our discussions yesterday so the balls in your court lol.... I have Freeney, Sanders and possibly Clint Session on the block for anyone interested.
See I feel that some of you fall into the category of either being afraid to make an offer for fear of overpaying or just simply don't know what a player's worth really is. I would like to extend a helping hand to anyone who is considering a trade with another team as an advisor. I'm serious. I've done it with some of you already this year and I did it with some of you last year. Please PM me or hook up at night on AIM and I'll offer you my advice on whatever trade you may be mulling over. It will be strictly between us, strictly confidential. I love to analyze trades after they are made, why not tap into that before the trade goes thru. Take this most recent trade tonight between Jax and Hou. On the surface at first glance, this would appear that Jax won. But when you get into the meat of the trade and actually look at what Jax gave up in Mathis and Harvey vs Barwin and Reeves, you start to realize that Hou got a pretty fair deal. Nice job by both sides really.
That wasnt the original deal they had posted. Also I do consult with a few GM's on trades. However I hate being the first to make a move in negotiations. You tell me your minimum and I will tell you if I can meet it. That is my style.
I think we came close last year on a number of occassions with the Bengals... that damn VO would always get in the way... Pekoooooo
