Man that's crazy money, hopefully it's frontloaded so it doesn't hurt us too bad in the long run. It is nice to see Ross is willing to spend the money though.

Thanks for the great news!!

22 instead of the expected 32? Dang!

Can't wait to see how Nolan plays the chess game with Dansby as a three-down inside/outside guy. Sounds like the guy Bill Arnsparger would designate as his "53" linebacker. That's exciting!

The Trifecta took care of business within 24 hours of the start of free agency, o ye of little faith! The question now is, WHO'S NEXT? Has to be a WR.

Great Job by our front office. This was a huge start to our offseason. We upgraded our LB'a already. Actually, although it makes him the highest paid LB, I think the 22 million guarantee is pretty reasonable considering we gave Loud mouth porter 20 mill guaranteed 3 years ago.

    I am so pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fins are not finished they are expected to target the FS next. Rolle, Clark, Sharper, Atogwe all linked to Fins

I wouldn't look too much for that to happen. Our FO does like Crowder. Plus Karlos Dansby is going to be a huge help in the middle in terms of Crowder looking better.
I think this signing means we look at other positions in the draft. Maybe OLB, maybe FS, maybe even WR.

Its great to know we got the second most coveted player in free agency this year besides Pepper and our sights weren't on Pepper. We now have a leader in the middle of our 3-4.

Wow talking about playing hardball. Parcells is truly a poker player because he was able to call Dansby's bluff and not meet his $30mil guaranteed moneys demand. He only coughed up $22mil guaranteed. Not bad. Risky though. Now lets hope they call bluff on Rolle and sign him too. :wink2:

Rolle is not a lock, the Giants already have been linked to Sharper. I think Giants don't want to pay up. Rolle has offer on the table from Fins for 6 mill a year.

My thoughts exactly LA. And, that's what made this signing so important. Now, the FO can essentially scratch off ILB off the draft card and focus on other needs.

How are we so sure Dansby will play ILB? Some reports stated that we like him on the strong side.

IMO he'll play strongside on 1st and 2nd down and kick inside for a situation rusher...either Taylor or a rookie.

The Giants are starting to look elsewhere and Dansby took less than at least 8 million up front than he first wanted. Maybe there's something going on with the ol' Arizona buddies? :)

If we get Rolle too, then our defense will be A FORCE.

    Atogwe also works.

Then yes, we have to address WR, but we could even do that with a second rounder.

As much as KD improves the backers, I can't wait to see what a top flight free safety does for Bell and the Young Buck CBs.

Yeah I don't really care too much for the idea of drafting ILB with our first. Maybe if we were drafting lower than #12. But at #12 I would much prefer to see us picking up a pass rusher or maybe FS. Even so grabbing up Dansby gives us flexibility with our pass rush since he's played OLB albeit within a 4/3.
For me, like you this was a huge pick up for our defense.
Any other FA pick up is all icing on the cake IMO.
