I saw them in '08 at the BAC. Pretty damn good.

Then Eddie checked himself into rehab not too long after.

It's probably the weakest track on the album. There are so many heavier songs I would have chosen instead as a first single. I think this album is better than anything they did with Van Hagar.

again, one of my all time favorite bands, but when your last really good album was 28 years ago, to expect them to rekindle that magic is pretty slim-to-none IMO.
    28 years. that's a long time

Listened to the new album. Its not bad except for the fact that its unreleased material that has been rerecorded, which is better than nothing but new material would've been nice. "Tattoo", the new single and the first track, is the worst song off the album, but its uphill from there. Would love to see the guys live, as I missed their last few reunion shows.

I disagree, Yes Eddie sounds better now than in a while, the lyrics are horrible. Its an Ok album, but Van Hager put out better albums.

Well, the older VH albums, yes (if he wrote the songs). Some of these songs it seems like the lyrics were just thrown together.

Eddie seems back to old Eddie I would say.

Maybe that's why these songs were never released in the first place. These are re-recordings of previously unreleased material afterall. Anyways, its freaking Van Halen, the ultimate party band. If I wanted to hear intellectual lyrics, Id listen to Pink Floyd, Rush, Zeppelin or Radiohead instead.

Several songs are re-recordings off of their Gene Simmons demo, which is amazing. 'She's the Woman' sounds almost identical to the original. It's not 1981 era Van Halen, but I think they sound pretty tight for approaching 60 years old. I remember the last two Rolling Stones albums. They'll never be included with albums like 'Exile on Main Street,' but they still gave them a purpose to tour and feel like they were doing something new. And I liked hearing all of their classics, sprinkled with songs off of 'Bridges to Babylon', etc. I think it's a VH good album, and I like the music on it. I think it'll be a great tour. Still my favorite band ever.

Normally I'd agree with you...if Heaven & Hell didn't put out their last album. Llsten to that, new Maiden, new Priest. They're all pushing or OVER 60. Lemmy's pushing SEVENTY and Motorhead still kicks ***. I dunno man...I think this album is nothing special, but that's my opinion.

I expect the new Sabbath album to be better also when it comes out, even though the drummer is off it now.

Yeah, I heard about that. As long as they keep updating their set list on a regular basis with stuff I haven't heard in years, like 'Girl Gone Bad' 'Hear About It Later' and 'House of Pain,' they can do what they want with the opening band.

My friend got me tix to Van Halen in Orlando on April 12th as an early 40th b-day present. All I've heard from newspaper reviews and online reports is that the concert kicks ***. They've been playing so many classics that are not on the set list. I plan on rocking my *** off and being hoarse for a few days afterwards.

I saw Van Halen in Jacksonville last night. It was a helluva show. The band was tight, and Dave still jumped around a lot but seemed to know his limitations. I hope I'm that agile at 58. They had an awesome set list that included a few songs from 'Van Halen II' and 'Women & Children First' that aren't on a 'greatest hits' package. Glad I got to check it out.

Bruce Dickinson at age 54. Forward to the 2 minute mark when the song kicks in. Made even more cool by the fact that this song is usually performed deep into the set. There's NO ONE with the energy live that this man has, and he flies the band's plane to boot. ;)

My favorite band ever. Not sure if I'm going to catch the tour this time around. I don't have money and my dad's being cheap. I've only listened to the album once. Thought it was ok at best. And if I'm being honest, the last tour was good but not great. Part of what made them great back in the day was their energy. I didn't expect this:

But given the example Iron Maiden sets I think they could use a bit more energy than they had.

Well all I can say is I was far from impressed with DLR, he totally forgot the lyrics to Beautiful Girls they played half the song without him singing. Then he messed up on a few other songs too, Eddie did alot of singing. Eddie on the other hand put on a great show, Eruption was well ERUPTION.
