Patriots signed LB Victor Hobson to a one-year contract, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter. Hobson, a second-round pick in 2003, learned the Patriots' defense under Eric Mangini with the Jets. He had six sacks and 100 tackles as an outside linebacker two seasons ago, but struggled in 2007. The Patriots could be looking at Hobson as an inside linebacker.
