YouTube - Miami Minute: Referee explains controversial call
It also has a few player interviews about the subject. Channing is hilarious. The refferee is a jackass.

I'm not watching the video. He can go to hell. Anybody who watches football and is not a Steelers fan knows he called that the wrong way. Screw him and the horse he rode in on.

Props to Dansby and Crowder. No one feels more screwed than the guys in the pads.

If this costs the Jets home field and we don't even make the playoffs by a couple of games, then some of the sting will be taken off of it for me.

"I don't know if you have to jump up and do a backflip with the ball for it to be conclusive..." Hahaha. At least Crowder can make a bad situation funny. [and he has come through against the run since he's been back]

Let me get this straight.
Steratore says there was no point in determining who recovered the fumble because it was ruled a TD....
But the refs on the field determined the Dolphins recovered the ball and though it wasn't officially ruled that way at the end of the play, they admitted it was.
Yet, when it was reviewed they had no say in the final decision...

Touchback: When a ball is dead on or behind a team’s own goal line, provided the impetus came from an opponent and provided it is not a touchdown or a missed field goal. via nfl.com
What i don't get is if the ball was determined to be neither teams ball(ie. Dead Ball), why would it not be a touchback?
Oh and him scratching his neck is a sure sign of him lying, at least in baseball when the ref cost that kid a perfect game , he apologized
this guy is a shmuck, I hope a free safety breaks his neck.MrClean likes this. -

But the refs came back and took the ball from them and gave it to the opposing team. It is the definition of being screwed over. As Dansby said, the ball DID bounce our way in thie game...and the refs gave it back to the other team.
The execution/coaching excuses that others are trying to defer too hold zero water. Miami got hosed, and it cost them the game most likely.FinFan_Est.1984, eric, dolfan32323 and 6 others like this. -
If it's true that the refs on the field were calling "white ball" and told our plays that the ball was ours, how great would it be for these guys to man up and call out the booth upstairs, saying they indeed believed miami had the ball and that the review was wrong?
they can't, because the NFL would find a way to fire them for being honest, but it would be amazing. -

Well I thought he was good and correct but Francis said it best if you ask me.
Did you have the ball?
Damn right I did!!!Coral Reefer and adamprez2003 like this. -

Nah, a "do over" to the team with the benefit of the doubt sounds more reasonable.

Love this guy already. He's a true leader and obviously loves to win. All in all, he played a great game today. -

This is the third call against the fins in the last two years the refs have reviewed and still got wrong. I find that unbelievable!
1. New Orleans non TD on the interception return.
2. Ronnie not being given a first down last week.
3. Today
I can't think of three other calls that were reviewed and confirmed incorrectly in the last two years. -
That Ref's a ****ing tool.

Good teams don't always blow you out but when the game is on the line, they make the play. That would be the forced fumble. We made the play. It was obvious no Steeler recovered the ball. A dead ball in the endzone is a touchback. **** this ****. Boik, Muck, Maynard, sorry for the profanity today!

I don't see how any Dolphins fan can not be outraged about that call. Regardless of what you think about the rest of the game. Blame the team first I guess. If they were just light years better than every other team in the league I guess they wouldn't need to worry about poor officiating.

I had a couple Steelers fans watching the game with me today.
They even said we got screwed. That's how bad it was.
They were happy to win the game (understandably) but from the overhead shot, Big Ben clearly fumbled the goal into the end zone, and 3 dolphins jumped on it with the advantage over a stray arm of a Steeler.
We were all watching the replays and they all were saying game over. When the Ref announcement came, they were as shocked as anybody.FinFan_Est.1984 and adamprez2003 like this. -

It is justified this year. The argument that if Miami plays better they aren't in this position is folly because, they DID play well enough to win.FinFan_Est.1984, Fin D, and 1 other person like this. -
