The Dolphins also hope the development of cornerback Sean Smith, Davis, and pass-rush leader Cameron Wake continue as they all enter their primes.
Wake went to the Pro Bowl last year after collecting 14 sacks and the Dolphins expect him to improve, which is scary.
“He’s learning how to play,” Taylor said. “We saw that last year and as he continues to learn and grow and develop into that No. 1 pass rusher, that elite pass rusher, he’ll learn to better beat the schemes he’s going to see.”
Put that together and the Dolphins have a defense that will deserve and get attention. And when the attention comes, Davis says the unit is going to show fans something special.
“Swag,” he said.
