Wow, so he is only being targeted on average 2.5 times per game??? And half of that came in 1 game? Completing only 55% of their passes against him, for an average of 6.6ypc and 3.6ypa? Very, very impressive...
I know exactly which play you are talking about. Vontae lined up on the outside man, and Welker was in the slot. Welker did a small out/flare/slant towards the sideline while Vontae's man ran a post/inside slant...
targets don't really have anything to do with tackles. It's only counted as a Target if you are lined up on the player or it is determined that the coverage was your responsibility on said play.
4.5 times a game. 18 targets/4 games And yes vontae is quickly becoming one of the elite corners...our best since Madison and Surtain were in their primes.
Rumor around internet boards has it that one way to effectively Shut Down your computer is simply typing in: Vontae Davi-
V. Davis once had an aneurism, heart attack, and stroke at the same exact time. He blinked and went right back to work.
Personally, I think he is already there. Davis is already way ahead of both of them with regards to where they were at this point in their careers. I don't think Surtain started a game until half way through his 2nd season. Madison only had a hand full of starts at this point... Though Madison did burst on the scene with a butt load of INT's his 2nd year.
