On his developing his skills in the CFL: “Well I mean that was something that started off in the CFL. Going up there and being a 4-3 guy, outside and like a d-lineman, a typical d-lineman and having the whole game where you had to use this move and maybe set him up for this move and move and do that one. Last year I ended up being more of a situational role player kind of guy you didn’t have a whole game to set up for a move and try this one. You had to go in there, you never knew are you going to get 10 plays in a game, are you going to get 15, are you going to get two? You have no idea so when you got in the game you pretty much had to throw your fastball out there and just hope that you do your best. You can’t set people up and work this move to set up another one. It was kind of one and done because you didn’t really know, you had guys in front of you. Obviously going into this year being a guy that had more of a role in the defense and being out there much more you can put a streak together or use one to set up another one. You can’t go out there and do the same thing every time. These guys are great athletes, tackles and people blocking you they, obviously they’re very good at what they’re doing as well and they’re studying film and everything that you’re doing so if you go out there with the fastball they know it’s coming and knock it out the park. You got to be able to switch it up and try to do something else and even do something else after that. It’s something definitely that I’ve been able to work on in the past couple, past couple offseasons.”

Great stuff, Conu and me had a running discussion about Wake using his hands well, Conu wasn't seeing it, I said exactly what Wake said, when you have 5 plays tops, you go with your best move because you don't have opportunities to set guys up or to play cute, 3 plays in a game, you speed rush you throw your fastball.

I went to the CFL with the mindset that I get to play football and I get to do something that I love to do. When I got up there I had no intentions of I’m just going to come up here to play in the NFL. I went up there and got to play football. Like I said I got to do whatever I did to get back on the field and I left it all on there every time I stepped on the field whether it was lifting weights, studying plays, whatever and that in turn drew interest from the NFL and I ended up coming back down.

That was paramount, clearly I am a CFL fan and think the league and it's talent is underrated, Wake took advantage of what the league had to offer, playing time doing something he loved to do, which is why busts like Maybin or Gholston would never play up there as they already are millionaires and I question whether or not they have the love of the game it takes to just play wherever you can when you can.

Aaron Maybin is making rap songs, Cam Wake unplugged his TV in October, before that he went to the CFL to play for 43k per yr.

He also got to play in vancouver , which in my mind is probably the prettiest city in NA.
