Well, when sharing a view is labelled, then I do call that intolerance.

This is one of the problems I see in the US, to many people are just afraid to say what they think, or even question, whatever some other opinion group holds.

I prefer the free exchange of ideas with people free to accept or reject them.

Not for anything.... just showed the tweet to a gay coworker. Told him that Wallace is getting blasted for it. He said the only thing Wallace did wrong was not realize how oversensitive people are and that he'd get torched for saying that. He said he saw nothing wrong or derogatory about it.

Tim hardaway is a perfect example. I loved the guy. Spent my entire high school and college careers watching him with the Heat. Seemed like a great guy. Then he made his extremely ignorant and bigoted comments. And he paid the price. He got fired from his job with the Heat, he was a national punchline and the object of scorn and that shame caused him to truly change. He didn;t just change his views to suit greater society, he changed beause he was realized he was wrong. And now, he has largely gotten back everything he lost.

And for every Hardaway there are people who never learned the lesson and likely never will and their careers will suffer for it. If you don;t believe this let me know the next time Mel Gibson appears as a leading man in a major hollywood film.

Well, you brought up the Westboro clowns Padre, and while certainly they have a legal right to think and say whatever they want, and to unfortuantely protest the funerals, their views ARE NOT acceptable, period. They are a bunch of ignorant jerks who are lucky that they don't get their *sses kicked every time they show their faces. We do not have to be tolerant of their views because their views are simply wrong.

Now perhaps its better that they, the KKK and other like them are out there so the racism, etc. is broguht to the forefront, as you say.
