....somethings been on my mind since. First of all I was sitting 2 rows back from the middle of the endzone so I had a great view of the action when the teams were down that end of the field. Now,this is whats bothering me- during the play when Sanchez scored the TD it was quite obvious that because of the formation and spread offense that that particular play was a viable option, so much so that I heard other Dolphin fans around me yelling " QB sneak, QB sneak" ( as did I ). Also, a Dolphins player turned around for a split second which lead me to believe he indeed heard us. The question is if it was SO OBVIOUS to us sitting right there then why did the defense seem to be caught by surprise????... The middle of the field was wide open clearing a lane for the QB to run up the middle.
I`m not saying we know more then they do but....damn,that was frustrating.

I know, as I watched the play unfold, what happened was:
-McKnight split out wide, taking Dansby with him
-Jones pointed to that side of the field and took maybe 3 steps that way
-Sanchez took off (nt was blown out of the play)
-Jones was..3 steps late..and missed the tackle

I DVR`d the game so I can watch it but I havent been able to willingly torture myself yet. But,I will soon so I can see exactly what happened on that play from a TV spectators view.PHINZ4LIFE likes this. -
When you are losing there is a tendency to overthink situations.A defense lines up like its going to be a QB sneak and the overthinking DC thinks its a trick play .
They know more than us, right ? Thats why they get paid the big bucks.:shifty:steveincolorado and RGF like this. -
They out-think themselves, players and even coaches sometimes.
It's like on Netflix when you follow recommendations based on one choice, then recommendations based on subsequent choices, and it gets to the point where you're so far outside the realm of your first choice that you're looking at a screen full of S&M flicks.
Okay, maybe that's just me.
But I think these guys are so intent on not being out-thought that they follow scenarios out to redundancy. They need a coach or an experienced player, someone who brings them back from the fringes to the center again; zero-based football, if you will.thisperishedmin, Section126 and RGF like this. -
I think this team is lacking communication because we cut him during the preseason.RGF likes this. -
To be fair it was a QB draw not a sneak, right?

I thought Sanchez was going to get sacked, but the kid is very athletic for a QB.

every player has an...........ASSIGNMENT....... to take care of.....they just did what they were COACHED to do. So I cant blame the players on this play.....but it still sux.
Crowder would have done the same thing.......Crowder DID DO the same thing.... -

Something is wrong with your defense when you don't account for the guy who will have the ball in his hands EVERY SNAP -
Didn't Big Ben do it to us too?
Bottom line, it looked like a total blown assignment. Jones would be the most likely suspect based on what I saw, and as Padre described above. But, why would Dansby stay with McKnight? That's a total mismatch...no?
