Anyone else get WD2? I was going to get it for PC until I noticed it comes out on the 29th. That day is reserved for FF15, so I went ahead and got it on PS4 last night. I played for a good 3 hours last night...
What I like so far:
[
- B]The main character is a black dude[/B] - Not sure why I like this. It makes me feel that world is getting better in some regards
- The soundtrack - Holy **** this game has badass music.
- The Map - It's big, full, and has a lot to play with. Maybe too big considering my first dislike below.
What I dislike so far:
- The driving - Jesus H Christ... The driving feels worse than the ship controls in AC4. Thats a diss on this game and compliment for AC4. The cars are boring and slow (I've even stolen some nicer ones), and just dont feel good like GTA5 does.
- The "Nerd" culture - Obviously this game was made by developers that I have to imagine is a large population of nerds. Real ones. However, they seem to be trying to mainstream it in a way that's not landing for me the same way the Big Bang Theory doesn't land for me. It's still early and there's a lot of character development to go. I'm hoping they tone it down a bit.
- The UI - This is spoiler territory I think so I won't describe it. But The way you interact with your own stuff is neat and I see what they're going for... I just think it ends up more tedious than helpful once the novelty wears off.
- The Pre-load - Not the game's fault but for some reason the preload didn't automagically download. Luckily I live in Austin and downloading 24GB on gigabit isn't too bad. But I had to log into the the owned media section on the web version of the PS store to get my preload started. I could not get to it on the store on the console. The game page just had a timer.
I'll keep playing it. Seems ok so far.

The "Nerd culture" thing is bundled so tightly in the marketing that I doubt it's ever going to get toned down. The game will always have that feel, I think.
Do they make any references to Watch Dogs 1? Is Aiden Pearce somehow still being an insufferable fake Batman? -
The setting and protagonists are perfect for a follow up from the first game. It actually seems like they took the negative feedback to heart.
-
As for Aiden, nothing yet. -
Any other hints that this series takes place in the AC universe? -
-
Aiden Pearce is definitely in the game.

-
i mean... i can save you the money. It's not overly spoilery lol

This game is great. A great protagonist and support characters with some fun stealth/hacking gameplay. They hit a homerun with the San Francisco setting, too.
