OK, y'all had to know Ricky's ill fated pass that was intercepted in the endzone was a prime "c'mon man" entry. And, it was.
But, they also included the play when Bell intercepted Fitzgerald because they showed Sparano running down the sideline trying to call a TO just as the play ended (actually, he started running toward the side judge motioning his hands in a TO fashion before Bell even went down).
In other words, he was trying to call a TO when the clock would stop due to a change of possession anyway. Oops.

I don't see how many on here want to see Sparano fired after he went 11-5 and WON the AFC East with a joke of a team the year before that went 1-15?
He is not allowed one average season after that miracle run? Geez...
We have all seen how smart nerdy head coaches have done in the past, they are far from a sure thing. I think he deserves 2 more seasons after this one to prove himself.
Tony Sparano isn't making the poor throws, dropping passes on offense, nor missing tackles on defense. We need better players guys.Delfin Alejandro, gunn34, Agua and 4 others like this. -
I didn't say fire him, now did I?
However, the NFL isn't a place for on the job training. Next season will be his tell all. How do we rebound? Does the playcalling get any better? Do we make adjustments?
There have been a lot of errors this season that are on him. However, you are right...he doesn't drop the passes or miss the tackles. We do need better players. However, we can't wait forever for Tony to prove that he is an NFL Head Coach and not a coach in training.Firesole and CashInFist like this. -
Sparano has MUCH room for improvement.....Firesole likes this. -
For all of the hand wringing over some nonsensical timeout call, overlooked was Ryan Baker and Tony McDaniel's play yesterday, and the dirth of appearances by Cameron Wake.
Sometimes one wonders if Sparano is basically redshirting players more or less. -
Pat White should have never been on the field on that drive.
The White experiment is a failure.Shamboubou likes this. -
I'm not going to comment on if he's right for the job or not, I mean, we went 1-15 to AFC east champs. We've contended with playoff bound teams this year in games we should have won with less talented players on our sidelines than our opponents in most key positions.
Sure he's made some questionable calls this year, but all in all, im giving him the benefit of the doubt. Although, our 4th quarter defensive collapses does raise a few questions. Either way, Tony is ok for now in my books. -
The main problem that I have with this current coaching staff is our apparent ineptitude at making half-time adjustments. I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand enough to make any huge revelations about this, but we are consistently getting beat in the second half. That's very worrisome to me, and I don't understand it. We always seem to be prepared in the first half.

I wasn't talking about you and I am sorry if you thought that I singled you out. I have just seen a lot of people being very critical of Sparano (nothing wrong with that) but I think much of the blame falls on the shoulders of some the assistant coaches we have in place at the moment. I see a HUGE shake-up with our coaching staff this offseason. -
Keep in mind White was a much better Qb in WVa than VY was in TX, so one may wait a bit before slinging around failure.djphinfan and CashInFist like this. -
I'm judging from seeing him on the football field in the NFL.
We have had zero success throwing the ball from the pistol. The Dolphins burn downs when White is on the field.
Inserting Pat White into that football game at that crucial moment was a mistake.dolphinfn3454 and gunn34 like this. -

White did not throw the ball from the pistol, he had dive play more or less, and that meant nothing, what hurt the Phins was defense's collapse.
As for what White did in College, we see what VY is doing in TN, and yet a handful of plays means White is a failure?
Please, that is low grade pot stirring and little else.
I don't mind disagreement Bro, but bring some facts to the table, White is the #2 Qb and he occasionally sees the field, most #2's never see the field and typically work on their golf games. -

Whatever it was was so ****ed up. -
While Sparano has much room for improvement, Paul Pasqauloni's defensive schemes have even more. I would not be surprised if someone else is the DC next year. I also feel like Dan Henning is too much of a dinosaur at times, but there have been games, or halves of games, where he's been brilliant and the defense has let us down (Indy, New Orleans).

I know all about the defense collapse. When a backup QB runs 31 yards for a TD things are real bad.
Using the Vince Young argument to make your point. priceless. Will he be that guy... don't care at the moment.
Maybe you read things sideways. Maybe my typing translates badly
I'm blaming the coaching staff

Yeah...I'd probably want to commit suicide if Pat White did something like that ...:unsure:eric likes this. -
Pat White should be good enough to run a running teams offense. I would hate to think what Pat White can do in Carolina over Jake Delhome.
White/Williams/Stewart in Carolina would be a hell of a runnign game. I wouldnt be opposed to seeing what he can do with an offensive drive or two in a blow out for us.CashInFist likes this. -
You did say this loss
If you have doubts about wanting Sparano for a coach, then, it's saying you may not want to keep him.
I don;t blame you for beginning to have doubts or feeling bad about our team today because I think ALL of us are having trouble dealing with this. I know I have been over-reacting and changing my opinion hourly. On minute I am like, "Aw heck, we can still make the playoffs with a little help.", then "What the EFF were we doing yesterday against the Bills? We suck!!!".
I can;t say I doubt Sparano is the man for the job, but I do question some of the OC's in game decsions. I think we react poorly when it comes to making in-game ajustments and that's why we get our brains pounded in in the second half of games despite game-planning great for the first quarter.adamprez2003 and djphinfan like this. -

Also, once the opposing offense adjusts to our Defensive gameplan, we pretty much do nothing to neutralize their adjustments.
Question: What exactly do we need Pasquaoni on game day for if all he does is draw up a plan during the week and stick to it?
Henning, on the other hand, just confuses me.eric likes this. -
Peyton Manning saw it, checked to a quick screen to Garcon, and one missed Gibril Wilson tackle later, Touchdown. No one even got close to Manning. I also feel like he doesn't do a good job mixing up blitzes - they're all guys coming straight through the holes, he doesn't run a DE/NT stunt followed by multiple guys coming up the middle or outside.
Say what you want about Nick Saban, but that man could coach defense, and I'd prefer his scheme, or at least his blitzes to anything Pasqualoni throws out there. -
Funny how we dont see to many of those vince young bashers at the moment.gafinfan and CashInFist like this. -
Also, I have a feeling that if KB were here, he'd be honest with you right now about his feelings for Vince Young. -
Sparano had his "Golden Year," and now he's had his "Pass Year" as a result; next year, he simply needs to cut the mental errors - his OWN - down to zero.
If he's not good at the detail stuff like knowing when to call timeouts, then it's within his purview to delegate to his assistants.
However he accomplishes it, though - that **** has to stop. -
Instead of always making smart *** comments regarding everyone else's level of perceived competency, or what you feel is their inadequacies you could turn that spyglass inwards and fix your own glaring attitude problems.
It is ridiculous the way you address people as though they are beneath you at times, and especially Padre. Are you kidding? Padre is a ****ing pimp. The guy is cool as ****.
You offer some valid points, but they mostly get drowned out by stuff like that. Unfortunately people will just put you on ignore and very few will ever read what you've written. Which would be a shame as it is evident that you have a good understanding of the game.gunn34 likes this. -
Sparano may be the analytical sort, a mind deeply preoccupied in detail, yet woefully oblivious to the instantaneous turn of events as they occur on the grassy surface.
If so, he'd be well advised to adopt the steel pokerface, and ultracool sideline persona, once presented by the late great Tom Landry, and at least put forth the impression, of a cognizant mindset.
