The Miami Dolphins have declared WR Ernest Wilford, RB Jalen Parmele, QB John Beck, DL Lionel Dotson, CB Michael Lehan, OL Nate Garner, DL Rodrique Wright, OG Shawn Murphy inactive for Week 1.

 

Wilford, Parmele and Rod Wright inactive today. Dwight Lowery starting at CB for the Jets. He's probably their second best CB behind Darelle Revis. I was hoping we'd see someone worse at that number two spot so we could pick on them with Hagan but that will be difficult now. Lowery is a good player.

I was shocked, too. But when you think about what he has done so far, it shouldn't be a surprise

 

Wilford would have been nice to have today for red zone situations because of his size. But if you don't perform your going to get benched.

 

I wouldnt say im shocked really... im more disgusted and disappointed with his performance so far... the amount of cash we gave him for apparently nothing, is frustrating.

 

Heat index will be 96 degrees today. It will play a factor in todays game.

 

The anticipation is killing me ...

 

I really wonder if he's any good in the redzone with his size. I remember a statistic posted by Stitches in the CL that showed how he was almost useless in the red zone. He doesn't do much there.

You would think that would have been one of the main reasons to bring him in because he could be a great redzone player.

I would rather have his big money on the bench if one of the young guys are outperforming him. Don't play guys based on anything other than productivity - not contracts.

 

I had trouble sleeping last night... no ****. I really did. Dolphins football is back boys and girls! lets win this! Heres to a productive and enjoyable 2008 Miami Dolphins football season!!!

Wilford is not playing is because he has absolutely no value on ST's. If he did, you wouldn't see Brandon London activated. I don't think London has had enough time to outperform Wilford but they made the decision today because of the ST's value.

 

When I return, I will be either extremely upset... or extremely happy...

Now I am off to the sports bar (because KGAN is lame feels that the Chiefs are more important)..

Anyone else watching the Marino / Favre interview?

Favre just brought up that he broke all of Dan's records ...

 

I saw it... I think he was being more appreciative to Dan for being a "mentor", and more appreciative for his own opportunity to break those records. I dont think he was saying it to make it a point and rub it in...

however....

the game hasnt even started yet, and im sick of hearing of Favre already.

 

I think everyone here feels the same way.

 

Yeah... in the context of Favre admiring Dan's desire to win every game, and Favre's desire to emulate that. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Nevertheless, GO PHINS!

 

I just thought it was interesting that it came up, that's all.

For those of you tired of Favre-Mania, Nantz and Simms are calling the game, so don't expect it to stop anytime soon.
