What a joke. How can they have the jest above us?

I don't have a big problem with it. They played and barely lost to a top 5 team. We barely beat (in score only) a bottom 5 team. When we beat the Jets and/or Patriots, then you can complain.

Its a case of New York Media bias towards the Jets this whole offseason. It is unbelievable and downright disgusting. Mark Sanchez is a bust and the Jets will never go anywhere with him behind center. 14 penalties shows what kind of discipline they have. Makes me sick how the media has been towards them, but made that *** whooping they took from the Ravens even that much better. Total domination on the Ravens part, just like we totally dominated the Bills. The score doesn't always tell the how the game actualy went.

John Clayton is such a douche. So sick of that turd. I love how Miami wins and they lose four rankings, and the Jets lose and they only lose two rankings. WTF? Seriously...I hope stuff like this fires up the team even more.

under the bills it says their offense was putrid. was it? or was our defense awesome? i choose to believe our defense is awesome!

or they will say that he just needed a couple of nfl games under his belt. hopefully he will have a good game next week so that the only conclusion that can be drawn is that our defense is awesome! lol -
Power rankings don't phase me one bit but how they come about them is head scratching -
Dallas loses on the road vs a division opponent who was 5-11 last year but are still 'ranked' at No. 9.
But this again and always will show how ******ed such lists are so why even bother? -
I do like this too:

I'm sorry, the Jets shut down one of the best teams in the NFL offensively for the most part. We shut down the Bills.
The Jets floundered in offense against one of the best defenses in the NFL. We managed to put up a whole 6 points more than them against the Bills, who have a good pass defense, but terrible run D.
There isn't much to clear cut say one team is better than the other at this point. I think we are a better team, but until we see more regular season action, it's really hard to say what is what. -
heres the thing i dont get about power rankings. this isnt the bcs, where you place teams on it doesnt matter. So why the need to keep teams highly ranked even after a loss?
I believe the 16 teams that won should be 1-16 and the 16 teams that lost should be 17-32 in the first week. The best teams will eventually slide back up to where they should be like the colts, but at least for one week teams like the Texans can enjoy being in the top 5.
my two cents anyway.Butters, mullingan and BlameItOnTheHenne like this. -
Miami is 1-0 and the Jets are 0-1
My guess is Miami was better after week one... :tongue2: -

My biggest problem with Power rankings is that often times these are not written by people with a scout's eye nor does the person watch the actual games. They look at stat lines and scores but don't bother to see why those lines and scores look like that.

I hate the fricken jets more than anything. They have supplanted the long number 1 hated team in my book, the patriots, BUT.....
Everyone is writing them off like they got trounced by the raiders. They lost by 1 point to possibly the best team in the AFC. Granted they did not live up to the Fat Ryan Hype of superbowl champions, but they are not basement dwellers.
Dont let your bias get carried away. They are still a playoff team and will still make our climb to the top difficult. Lets be realistic guys we are a wildcard hopeful and will need to beat the Jets twice to make the playoffs. I think they are better than 16 on the power rankings but so are we.
With that said J-E-T-S Suck Suck Suck!!!!! -
As I'm sure next week it will be a no-win because Brett Favre is old, AP fumbles, Rice is out, ect, ect... -
-
I'm not saying don't enjoy it, I'm walking on cloud 9. I'm just saying sip the Kool-aid, don't chug it :knucks: -
And penalties shouldn't be an excuse for Dallas losing the game. Orakpo was a friggin beast. He caused the penalties. If Orakpo isn't held then Romo is toast, and the TD pass ceases to exist. Duh. Just another example of these baboons not actually watching a game.

And then when we win the SB, they'll hand the trophy over to Rex. :shifty:MikeHoncho and like this. -

Just pointing out that for all we know Baltimore's offense could end up one of the worst, so could their Defense.
The only real power ranking that counts for week one has to go by wins and losses because no one knows who is better at this point.....due to what happened last year.SeanP and ToddsPhins like this. -

Objective? You want to be objective? Fine compare the 2 teams
Defense : Jets
Special teams : Jets
Offense : I would like to say Phins but not by a vast margin.
Coaching : Phins
I would rather be the best on Defense and Special teams any day. Its hard to argue at this point who should be above who with still so many unknowns. The argument will be settled in 2 weeks on the field. How could you speculate us as anything higher than a wild card?
Playoff teams:
Colts = South
Ravens = North
Some Afc west default winner
Texans
Steelers
Bengals
Dolphins
Jets
Patriots = East
That leaves 5 teams fighting for 2 spots with still any other team making a bid as a darkhorse. We have done nothing to prove we are a Division Champion Contender to say we are is like Rex saying the Jets are superbowl bound.
I hope I am eating Crow at the end of the season and we are once again AFC East Champs but really I am hoping to simply beat out the Jets for the wild card spot. -
Power Rankings are worthless.
Earning respect from the media, national or local is worthless.
