Fans of the Dallas Cowboys (+1.5) are feeling something they haven’t felt in quite a while - the sting of defeat. But this wasn’t just any old defeat, they were totally obliterated by the Buffalo Bills The Cowboys had been riding a five-game win streak and looked like one of the elite teams, but the Bills were a more physical team on Sunday, and they were a more disciplined team. They won 31-10. The Cowboys had multiple personal foul penalties that set the tone and gifted the Bills points, then James Cook took over. The Cowboys defense was tissue soft and the Bills pushed them around the whole game. There was very little for the Cowboys to take away from this game. Now the Cowboys have to turn around and play the Miami Dolphins (-1.5) on the road. The road blues for the Cowboys seem to be a real thing. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Dallas is a 2-point underdog to the Dolphins.
I recall thinking about how favorably we measured up against the Titans in almost all areas before last Monday. All that matters is how well we prepare during the week and how well we execute in the game. They're going to have the same chip on their shoulder that we had after Monday night, so hopefully the 24-hour rule applies because we were on an emotional high after the Broncos game when we ran into Buffalo the following week. Not to be a downer, but this team plays on its emotions and I hope we still hold onto the pain of losing a very winnable game for the rest of the year.
as long as the Dolphins don't suffer major injuries in the first drive, I think they blow out the Titans. If Elliot doesn't suffer a concussion, I don't think the Titans make that epic comeback. People act like the Titans loss means more than what it did.
I'm actually going to be in Dallas over Christmas so I'll be antagonizing a bunch of Dallas fans throughout the game! Never really had a beef with Dallas fans though. At least the ones I know are fairly level-headed.
It was just an L. I was chapped, but more because of how the D rolled over than anything else. Refusing to bracket their best receiver gave me a hint of the frustration other teams' fans feel when Hill constantly gets behind their defenses. Hopkins was catching crossing routes 5 yards clear of a defender.
People here act like it meant less than it did. It was disastrous, as far as the season goes. It makes it vital we win one of the next three games, all of which are against very good teams. Had we beat the Titans, we would be in the playoffs and probably have the division sewn up. Instead, we could still be playing a game on the road in the wildcard round. Or not playing at all.
I was very upset as well. However, taking off my Dolphin fan hat, I can see the Dolphins more lost that game than the Titans won that game. Not to take anything away from the Titans, just sometimes the lesser team wins. That is the NFL. I am not going to look at the Titans game to determine what happens against the Cowboys. Though the Dolphins are going to have to play well from now on. McDaniel keeps on saying that as the season goes on you need to play your best football. Now is the time to start. Sure, beating a terrible Jets team feels great, however, no team going forward is going to be overall as terrible as them. Now until the playoffs, all teams they play are teams that wouldn't surprise people if they made the Superbowl. One thing that does make me feel better about beating that terrible Jets team is that there is a good chance that going forward, if they don't get injured again of course, Holland, Howard, Elliot, Tyreek, and Hunt will be available. Then at some point, Baker will be back.
Every favorite has that loss in a season. Its the NFL. We responded as well as you possibly could have and everything we want is still on the table. Gotta shut out the noise and handle business.
Every favorite has a loss that's a danger to keep them out of the playoffs? No, they don't. San Francisco doesn't. Dallas and Philly don't. Baltimore doesn't. They got their stupid losses to worse teams out of the way early enough that all of those four teams have already clinched a playoff spot. We have not.
Dolphins coming off a get-right game, but Cowboys seeking retribution after a blowout loss. I think the difference might be the Cowboys road performance. We need to shut down Pollard and keep Dak in the pocket. I think it will be close. Dolphins 26 Cowboys 24
Being kept out of the playoffs also depends on what other teams in your division and conference do. The AFC is much tighter than the NFC. The 49ers are lucky in that everyone else in their division is under .500. They have the same number of wins as the Dolphins. Dallas and Philly, same thing. Same number of wins as the Dolphins, but the rest of their division and conference (sans the 49ers and Lions) suck. This isn't college football. Early losses count the same as late losses. If we had played the Titans in week 2, and lost, we'd be exactly right were we are now. The 2nd seed in the playoffs.
I'd be lying if I wrote that I'm not nervous for this game, but I think that's more to me thinking about the past than the actual team playing. This team is good enough, both talent and coaching wise, to beat anyone. The key will be staying healthy (duh) and limiting mistakes. It seems (actually I think it's a fact) that we've had some horrible refs this entire season and they've put us in some tough situations all season long. If we can get at least a fair and consistent crew this week that will help tremendously. The Cowboys, like the Dolphins, have only lost to one bad team and lost to 3 winning teams (49ers, Eagles, and Bills). They were blown out by the 49ers, a team that I think closely matches the Dolphins. The 49ers are well coached, very talented, and play great defense. The Jets game plan, IMO, will be the perfect recipe for beating the Cowboys. The Cowboys are 19th in rushing defense, but like the Jets, very good in passing defense (4th). MM will need to call a great game, the oline will need to stay intact throughout the game, and if we get X, Elliott, and Holland back, we should win convincingly. We are at home, the Cowboys don't play well on the road, 3-3 on the road, but 2 of those wins were against the Panthers and Giants. They also beat the Chargers (barely) in LA. I hate that this is a 3pm game because I will miss the first half due to family/Christmas responsibilities, but it may make you all (well, not all because some of you aren't Dolphins fans) feel better to know that I've missed kickoff in 4 games this year and the Dolphins are 4-0 in those games. lol Dolphins 28 Cowboys 17
The Cowboys and Dolphins will meet on Sunday for what’s one of the marquee matchups of Week 16. This will be the first time McDaniel coaches against Parsons with the Dolphins. But McDaniel was San Francisco’s offensive coordinator in 2021 when the 49ers beat the Cowboys in the playoffs. In his Wednesday press conference, McDaniel was asked about the challenge of facing Parsons. “He is one of the best players in the National Football League at any position. And it’s — yeah, I don’t think it’s really debatable,” McDaniel said. “This dude is different. And the orchestration that he has with his teammates, the stuff that coach [Dan] Quinn does with the multiplicity of his alignments, and you can tell that not only is he unique in skillset, but you don’t play all the way across the line, and in the stack, and do all the thing sth the does without having a true love for the game. “He’s more fun to watch when you’re not going to play him. But that being said, I like the challenge of facing elite players like our players do. And it’s really cool to watch because you combine talent with strength, that’s rarefied air in general with the level of talent and the level of strength that he exhibits. He is a real dude, for sure.” In 14 games this season, Parsons has 46 total tackles with 12.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 27 quarterback hits. He’s also recorded a pair of passes defensed, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. With Dallas coming off a bad loss in Buffalo last weekend, we’ll have to see if McDaniel and the Dolphins can keep Parsons from wrecking the game in Miami on Sunday.
Looks like Miami might be getting some players back for this game based on who practiced today. Worryingly I think AJ and Hunt didn’t practice. Injuries are the only thing that keep me from being 100% confident in this team. I think they can win this week if they don’t get any more injuries during the game. Dallas looked weak on the edge last week, especially to the left. I hope we see a lot of crack toss behind Armstead early to check if they have fixed it or not.
I’m telling you 100% the NFL like drama games and they want the last game of the season to be an opportunity it’s for money and drama. The refs will ensure we are in a matchup for the division the last week! so between now and then the Dolphins will need to play error free or they going to help the bills out!
Not gonna get pissed at the team if 4/5ths of the line is out and they lose, as long as they play well as a team, not sure any fan of any team can expect a win in that situation If we win it’s amazing
Champions find ways to overcome. There are no excuses, especially given that oddsmakers think this is an even matchup. If they have the right mentality they’ll win. The one thing I think is worth pointing out is that this game is the least important of the three remaining ones, so losing here is OK if they still win the division. But they HAVE to win the division given where we’re at right now.
Well, evidentially Dallas has a real Gucci bag, so there's that... I have no clue what that means and really don't want to know. You'd think a sports analyst could come up with a better analogy than women's fashion accessories.
Unfortunately he's been proven right up to this point. Sooner or later Miami has to step up and beat a good team to change the narrative.
Hope somebody gave me a bottle of Maalox for Christmas. This is the most anxiety-producing graph I've seen all year.
