Its a perfect game to get back to winning and even our record. Who's playing QB? Your guess is as good as mine. Who's playing on the offensive line? Who knows. This game is going to be won by the defense. If they can just start a game like they finish a game were going to be ok.

Right now our offense is a HUGE question mark. Who’s starting at QB? Is McDaniel going to commit to the run? What’s the status of the OL? Too many questions to factor the offense as the major reason we win this game.
Will Levis has been BAAAAAAD!! If the DL can get pressure on him and cause him to throw some bad passes, the D could set the offense up pretty.Born_in_'72 and Irishman like this. -
Thompson on Thursday very much looked like a man who got knocked out of Sunday’s game with a rib injury.
He wore a brace/apparatus under his practice jersey, didn’t do much throwing during the portion of practice open to reporters, and labored while even lightly jogging around the field between periods. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel left open the door for Thompson playing Monday against the Tennessee Titans. But it’s hard to see how.
McDaniel on Skylar:
“It’s not just a pain tolerance thing, because Skylar’s a very tough individual. But it’s how you’re able to do your job and with what effectiveness and every day from the injury, you get kind of a scope into what it could look like and how that can affect him. So, I’m really just balancing what he’s able to do and then with regard to the reps and what the other guys are doing, just trying to absolutely make the best decision for the football team.”
Thompson seemingly would have had trouble protecting himself had the game been Thursday. Our sense? It’ll be either Snoop Huntley or Tim Boyle under center Monday, with Huntley the clear favorite.
Skyler wasn’t the only Dolphins player who tried to practice through pain Thursday. Cornerback Storm Duck was in a red practice jersey after hurting his shoulder in Seattle Sunday.
View on Watch
If Duck cannot play, things get really dicey for the Dolphins at cornerback. Cam Smith is on injured reserve, and Kendall Fuller is in the concussion protocol.
Fuller was one of five active roster Dolphins not participating in Thursday’s practice. The others? Tackle Terron Armstead, defensive tackle Calais Campbell, linebacker David Long Jr., and cornerback Siran Neal.
Running back Raheem Mostert practiced and seems likely to play this week after missing the last two games with a chest injury.Irishman likes this. -
Huntley officially named starter for this game.
Best case scenario given the options right now IMO. If nothing else it should be more entertaining for us fans .Striking, Irishman, Tuanon4Life and 3 others like this. -

The amount of injuries this team has each year is ridiculous.resnor and Tuanon4Life like this. -
I think running close to 1/3 of our snaps alternating between Mostert, Achane, and Wright in a two back formation in the backfield with Huntly using two tightend sets this week to find a running attack would be a good idea. Essentially forcing the lack luster Titans run defense to have to account for 3 run options with passing options to the twin tight ends and backs coming out of the backfield. The Titans rank 21st in the league against the run, and we need to try to take advantage of that weakness. On the flipside they rank 3rd against the pass, and our passing game has been abysmal.
We need to stop trying to try to polish our turd for this game, and instead rub their noses in their own.Last edited: Sep 28, 2024 -
I don’t honestly know. I do know however quarterbacks who are known for taking off and running often miss out on a completion. They tend to take off too soon.
We’ll see!Born_in_'72 and Irishman like this. -

I like our chances to win this game and the patriots game next week.. we go into the bye week 3-2.. think tua has to sit out one more game as the bye week does not count, mandatory 4 games. We can be 4-2 or 3-3 best case scenario before Tua is back.
if we end up 1-5 just shut him down.. and heads need to roll starting with GrierBorn_in_'72 likes this. -
A Buffalo loss tonight all of a sudden makes Monday night a big game for Miami.

The AFC is not the “Murderers Row” that it was last year; many of the usual suspects have shown major flaws.

A good running back is a quarterback’s best friends. TWO good running backs is a quarterback’s wet dream.
RUN—-THE—-DAMNED—-BALL!!!!
If McDaniel would just run the ball and not rely so much on the quarterback, we wouldn’t be behind the power curve trying to play catch up.
Last week in the first half, you have your backup quarterback starting, who hadn’t played a game since 2022 and out of 28 offensive plays, only 8 of those were designed called run plays.
That doesn’t set your quarterback up for success.dolphin25, Springveldt, Hooligan and 1 other person like this. -

Wright ran the ball 2 times for like 18 yards in the first quarter last week and McDaniel said, alright that's enough.

Anyone just see Derrick Henry house an 80 something yarder against Buffalo and wonder why, with all our speed, we can't do that against them?

Here’s my take on running the ball…if you can’t run for a 1st down on 3rd and 3 or 4, then you have huge problems on offense.
Balance is the key to a successful offense. Your run game must be just as much of a threat as your passing game. Teams that are one dimensional, or who abandon their running game completely are doomed to lose.dolphin25 and Born_in_'72 like this. -

With the speed of all three of our backs there is no reason we cannot average 150 yds per game on the ground with even average run blocking. If we can do that, then we can win games.
If the Ravens keep beating down the Bills like they currently are, and if we can get our asses in gear on the ground against Tennessee tomorow night, then we are right back in it for the moment. But if we cannot put up 200 yards on the ground against Tennessee who has one of the worse run defenses in the league this week, then we are truly screwed whether it is because our line or McDaniel cannot find their balls. -
The Bills have a ton of flaws. The problem is our head coach doesn't want to or knows how to take advantage of them.

It was fun to see Josh Allen get beat up a little bit last night. He took some nasty shots. A lot of violent collisions with his head and the ground. He has to be feeling it this morning.

Anyway, back to the game. I think the Dolphins win this if the offense doesn't shoot itself in the foot, if it cleans up the penalties then I think we win.
I've watched the highlights of the Titans games (NFL on YouTube, only about 10 minutes per game) and from them they can't defend the edges but Miami has had a lot of issues sealing the edge as well. Maybe tonight is the game to throw 20 screens to Achane and Wright and see if they finally break a couple. Other than that, get Huntley moving, give him so read options and take the odd "fk it, Tyreek down there somewhere" shots to keep them honest.dolphin25, Born_in_'72 and Hooligan like this. -

Paul does indeed have Huntley's blind side tonight. Jeff Wilson got injured in warmups. Only Achane and Wright available.
