let me start by saying I'm not trolling, or trying to be a Homer, but I would like to have some conversation about the upcoming game this week... Interested in how you guys see this playing out.
I see it like this.
QB-Bengals
WR-Bengals
RB-Dolphins
O-line-Dolphins
Dline- against the run-Dolphins....Against the pass-Bengals
Offense overall-Bengals
Defense overall-Dolphins for now, however with the starters for the bengals coming back it will be a better bengals D than has shown up in past games this year.
I see this one going to the bengals in a close game for most of the game but bengals pulling away late something to the tune of 28-17, maybe 28-21.
Thoughts?

Pretty fair assessment.
Hope we somehow win. IMO that would have to come from special teams.
Thing is, our STs is not as good since losing Pruitt and now Naanee. -
-
I think Miami is due and they win a very close game. 26-23. (lots of FGs)
-
I don't see it that way... I see the Bengals suffering our wrath after two weeks of OT losses. The Dolphins have some confidence going into this one. Dolphins 24 Bengals 16

This week is a tough call. I assumed last week at AZ was going to be a terrible beat down and was pretty suprised.
QB - this is my biggest uncertainty of the bunch. I think Tannehill is going to have a good day against cin's secondary. and how well our d is going to do against the pass this game...eh...... i really cant go one way or the other on this one. its hard to gauge off our own QB consistency.....50/50 split... If I HAD to give an edge it would be to Cinci.
WR - Im probably going to say Cincy on this one. I see a lot of holes and gaps getting exploited and bent over so-to-speak.....our recent WR pick up was a good one, although i dont see a contribution this game. Bline and Bess are playing at a very high level atm... but bess needs to start holding on to those quick slants......and it really Shouldnt be -TOO- hard to shred our secondary up. edge to cinci.
RB - Miami. no explanation necessary
Lines - right off the bat i'm going to give the lineplay of this game to Miami. Both lines. I'm confident in the solidity of our O-line for the most part, and if our D line plays half as well as they did last game i still see them pulling through as superior. whether run stuffing or rushing...... the last thing i'm worried about is the bengals running game on our d line, but after the sackapalooza last game, its going to have to be a wait and see situation because i dont think highly of AZ's fresh line ends in the first place.
Offense - like most reads i've seen on the game im going dead even 50/50 offensive stat split. I think it'll be a mid to high scoring game for both. and come down to more of ST situations and some crucial TO's
Defense - overall i'm going to go with Miami after last weeks performance and some adjustments. its been a trial and error thing so far, and its going to come down to if we shoot ourselves in the foot and give up the 4th and 10 again or not. gut feeling. because Miami's D has played some near PERFECT lock down football aside from the 1-5 plays where we off ourselves. I also wonder how well of a read Coyle will have on this game altogether.
This is a combination of watching last game and slight homerism, but Miami is over due for a win, and at this point STARVING for it. I see their play reflecting that.
28-20 Miami. Big ST plays
edit:edits -
and as far as ST is concerned, since our starting CB's are healthy and should be playing in this game, that means we'll have Adam Jones aka pacman back returning punts, and lets be completely honest, he's one of the top 3 punt returners in the game with the potential to break one on any given chance. -
Confidence and anger are 2 great things to have for a football team.HULKFish likes this. -
The difference in our outcome views will probably come down to those big ST plays and some crucial TOs. I don't know too much about the bengals D aside from what ive seen and current season stats i can go by, so i'm a bit in the dark about some of your returning players. Ofcourse that aspect of it would be easier for you to gauge than me, but Bush is Bush, and has been nothing short of amazing this season. so it'll be fun to watch either way.
teams with good returners mean nothing when your teams MVP is your punter! Woooooo! in all seriousness though, we are pretty renown for Riz and our ST play. so again A-Jones and ST will be another key match up just like your run D and how well Bush plays. I'm very excited for this game. and although our predictions are for different outcomes, the point/spreads themselves are very similar. I mean in the end we are like the 9th and 10th ranked offenses last time i checked:lol: -
that being said, you guys are the second best team we've played, since we havent played very many good teams so far this season that really isnt saying much though. you didnt really say anything to make a point as to why you guys should win or lose, your secondary is not very good at all. and since we have the best receiver in the game right now, I'm interested in knowing how you plan on stopping him... -
and ya, I know, you guys stopped Fitz last week, but Fitz hasnt put up big numbers at all this season, whether its against you guys or anyone else they've played. partially bc his QB is garbage. also AJ is the best receiver in the game, and his numbers in this point of his career are better than 5 of the best to ever play the game. here's my proof...

As i predicted last week Tannehill having a breakout game, i'm going to ride my streak and coming up with another bold prediction.
This week:
Tannehill over 300 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT.
Dolphins win 34-27 on a comeback shootout. Tannehill scores 2 TDs in the 4th quarter, 1 passing 1 rushing.
Reggie has a good game with 100+ rushing yards and 1 TD.HULKFish likes this. -

LOL thats comical. we can both get a good laugh out of this one. -
Reggie is questionable for the game. Even if he plays, I don't see him being nearly as effective as he was earlier in the season when he was completely healthy. This will hurt the Dolphins running game.
The Bengals will be passing the football all day. The Dolphins are in trouble at CB, with Carroll and Marshall both suffering though injuries right now. Heck, even when both of them are healthy, they still aren't very good. I think Dalton will have a big game throwing against the Dolphins secondary on Sunday.
I think the Bengals will cover Hartline and Bess much better than the Cardinals secondary did. Tannehill is going to have to find other open receivers if he expects to have success in this game.
I think it will be a close game, but in the end, I think the Bengals will prevail by a score of 27-24. -
Can we have A.J? or maybe just borrow him...............forever.... -
-
I see 300 yards as very VERY doable, especially after last game if that swagger carries over. 2 TDs not so much,
with having Lane and our run game, tanny just wont be correcting that TD-INT ratio very fast if at all. but it doesnt mean he wont be getting us points. -
-
An interesting stat: The Bengals are tied for seventh most in the NFL with 16 passes of 20 yards or more. The Dolphins are tied for allowing the sixth-most 20-yard passes with 16.

I'm not a big fan of position versus position analysis unless they're positions that will actually be battling one another.
For instance, their receivers versus our corners. Our corners versus their receivers. That position by position analysis I'll take. But their receivers versus our receivers, I'm not so sure about.
I think overall the thing that concerns me here is that their corners seem to be getting healthy at a time when ours are getting more injured. Nolan Carroll came back to practice today but Richard Marshall did not. As much as I don't like Marshall on the perimeter I'm not convinced he's a bad slot corner yet and the slot will be a key because when we try and take away A.J. Green that is when they can hit you with Andrew Hawkins.
Carlos Dunlap is also back healthy and the combination of he and Geno Atkins is fearsome. I'm not sure yet if I buy the Michael Johnson ascendria (bonus: pick out the movie that word comes from) but I was a fan of him at a reduced price in the draft so maybe the light is turning on for him, who knows. Either way the guys that I KNOW will be tough to handle will be Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap. Atkins against John Jerry is shudder-worthy enough, but Dunlap against Jon Martin even more so.
We'll see but if Richard Marshall misses this game it could be the first example of what I've been talking about with this team's lack of depth becoming a factor as the season wears on. -

oh and you lost to the jets....who are on the same level as every team we've played and beat. the fact is, we beat teams we're supposed to beat.
