Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended for four to six games on Wednesday for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, according to multiple sources.

When the suspension is announced, it will contain conditions that will allow it to be reduced based on Roethlisberger's behavior and compliance with clinical evaluators.

Commissioner Roger Goodell's verdict will reinforce a message that NFL employees will be held to a higher standard than the law.
Steelers employees were bracing Tuesday night for what they suspected would be an eight-game suspension, but two sources said it would not be eight games.

I expect that he'll be done with the suspension by then, but I don't expect that he'll still play for Pitt.

It was just reported on CNBC that he is suspended for 6 games. That being said, he will not available for them when we play.. YES!

 

I'll wait for official details...but if there is any GOOD BEHAVIOR type wiggle room, I would expect him to face us.

Yes it does say that but we do not know yet if there is a good conduct condition, wheras if he keeps his nose clean by say, like the end of Aug it could be reduced to 4 or 3 games.

That is a key part of this we need to know.

Vick's was a conditional suspension. IIRC it was 2-6 games.

ESPN just reported that the suspension will be 6 games, so we will get to be the first team to face big ben. oh well hopefully he will suck when he comes back

The story hasn't really died down though. It could get uglier before it gets better for Big Ben. So, I'm not seeing a reduced suspension right now, and it could even be made longer.

This man should be in jail... that's disgusting.

It's clear he is VERY guilty, I mean he never even told his side of the story to the cops did he? If I were in his shoes and I didn't do it I'd want everyone to hear my side of it...

 

Interesting the teams that are definitely going to miss him - Atlanta and Baltimore - two teams the NFL has love for. Boy we never seem to catch any breaks, and it makes it more & more believable that Goodell does have a hate for the Dolphins

(its been rumored he & his father were Jets season ticket holders when he was a kid)

 

This is the main reason why I think it'll get worse for Ben before it gets better. And 6 games may grow to much more rather than reduce to 4.

Not entirely true, if he completes the behavioral classes by the time the season starts, it could get reduced.....dont get your hope up....

however he could be traded, which Pitt is trying to do..

 

Seattle makes the most sense...2 1st rounders, Pitt gets to get him out of the divison....Seattle gives up the 6, and keeps the 14....and there is a need...

He HAD to be doing SOMETHING. Even if she is lying a little bit[which I doubt, he's had this problem before, and it's horrible to lie about something like this], it's very hard to lie about someone doing something with all these people around if he's in there keeping to himself and being nice to everyone, because someone would say something.

He should be suspended the full 6 games, or the NFL looks soft. We have our own guy with past issues now in Marshall, and I want players like him to see that the NFL is dead serious. I dont want to get screwed over by him.

Thing is with today's decision, moving Big Ben is going to be very difficult IMO. For any team willing to take him on, one more transgression and he's in deep sheet. Not saying it can't get done, and word is the Rooney's are fit to be tied with him right now, but my guess is the Steelers are either going to have to lower their expectations, or just suck it up and stick it out with Ben for now.
